Shikaumpa ceremony of the Ila people of Baambwe in Namwala took place this past weekend under the theme Economic Resilience through Preservation of Cultural Values. Zambeef supported the Chiefdom of Chief Mukobela in celebrating the ceremony as part of our Environmental Social Governance. Our support for tradition and culture is derived from SDG number 11, which promotes the preservation of cultural and natural heritage as part of a community’s identity. We believe that community units ensure social cohesion and are a very important factor to our business because our partnerships will only flourish where people are willing to work together. Apart from helping community development and economic growth, we are happy to empower communities to showcase their traditions. A DOUBLE CELEBRATION FOR ZAMBEEF MPONGWE EMPLOYEES On Zambia’s 60th Independence anniversary, it was truly a double celebration for Zambeef Mpongwe employees as they also commemorated 30 years of incorporation of Zambia’s largest agribusiness. Employees from all departments gathered at the company’s sports grounds at Nampamba Farms, showcasing their skills in netball, volleyball, chess, pool, darts, and football for both male and female teams. Zambeef’s Executive for Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Mr. Ezekiel Sekele, joined the celebrations, adding to the day’s significance. “As we celebrate 60 years of honouring our country’s heritage and embracing our future, we at Zambeef are also commemorating 30 years of our existence.
