Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) has reached a key milestone by signing an MoU with the Ministry of Health Zambia on behalf of the ATOM Coalition, with support from UICC member Zambian Cancer Society This partnership will aid Zambia in overcoming barriers to cancer screening, treatment, and care, improving outcomes for #cancer patients. This donation will go towards the Brave Hearts Photography Project. The project is an ongoing project that seeks to raise awareness and funds to purchase medical equipment and supportive drugs for the children's cancer ward at the Cancer Diseases Hospital U.T.H . #braveheartsphotographyproject #zocathon2024

As usual, FQM held their annual Charity Golf Day and Fun Bowling to support the works we do. This year, they raised over K450, 000.00. This was done through its subsidiary, Kansanshi Mining PLC. The event was held at Kansenshi Golf Club in Solwezi on 09th November 2024. Present at the event was Kansenshi Mine General Manager - Meiring Burger, Club Captain - George Ngoma and over 20 partner companies who came together to have fun while raising funds for a good cause. Our Communications and Administration Manager Ms. Idah Phiri was given an opportunity to speak and raise awareness on cancer at the event. Previously, FQM has helped us to: 1. Develop Zambia's First Breast Cancer Audio Guides, which are in English and Zambia's 7 main local languages. You can listen to this on .... https://lnkd.in/dn-VFfmK 2. Purchase Drugs and Medical Equipment for the Cancer Diseases Hospital U.T.H 3. Provide Transport for Patients and their families to and from the hospital. 4. Development of Tisamala Wellness Center, Which will offer partial accomodation to adult patient's in between treatment. 5. Host the Cancer Smart Youth Podcast Show. The podcast will focus on breaking the silence on cancer among the youth. It will be launched this weekend. (Stay tuned for more details. Heroes of Hope inspire hope, courage, and determination in the fight to eliminate cancer. They display a resilient attitude and inspire others to choose a proactive and positive stance on cancer survivorship. As ambassadors of their country’s cancer organization, Heroes of Hope inspire other survivors & caregivers and expand the bounds of cancer survivorship.
