An unidentified person is being sought after raw meat and mouldy food were scattered all over a towpath in Walton. In an image shared by Elmbridge Borough Council, a person can be seen dumping food at Cowey Sale.

The council says it's fly-tipping, and it happened on Tuesday (January 7) before 9pm. Citing danger to wildlife, it has asked for help to identify the culprit.

A spokesperson for Elmbridge Borough Council said: "Please help us by sharing this video and photo of a fly-tipper at Cowey Sale, Walton-on-Thames. On Tuesday, 7 January 2025, between 8:43pm and 8:53pm, someone dumped a large bag of out-of-date raw meat and scattered piles of mouldy food across the towpath.

"This reckless act posed a serious threat to local wildlife. We arranged an urgent clean-up of the scene.

"We are trying to identify the person who was there for about 10 minutes. Several vehicles passed by during this time.
