Inauguration of Jordan’s First Solar Greenhouse Sludge Drying System with HUBER SOLSTICE® ☀️💦 It’s the first of its kind for Jordan: The Muta Mazar Wastewater Treatment Plant in Krak celebrated the inauguration of the first solar greenhouse sludge drying system in Jordan. This milestone project marks a significant advancement in carbon dioxide reduction and sustainable resource management, transforming waste into valuable resources. The innovative system harnesses solar energy to dry sludge, turning it into a product that can be reused as an energy source, raw material, or compost. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions, controlling odors, and improving safety and efficiency, the project showcases the benefits of sustainable, cost-effective solutions in sewage sludge management. In partnership with our regional subsidiary MENA-Water, we are proud to have been selected as the technology partner for this pioneering project. Due to the significant growth of the subsidiary HUBER Italy in recent years, it became necessary to expand the office space as well as the assembly and logistics areas. Due to its size, this new location offers HUBER Italy growth opportunities for many years to come. The relocation enables an increase in local added value and thus an even stronger local presence in the Italian market. Successful Factory Acceptance Test: HUBER Band Screens CenterMax® and HUBER Screenings Wash Presses WAP® SL for Singapore's Tuas Water Reclamation Plant We are thrilled to share the successful completion of the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for the Tuas Water Reclamation Plant, a key component of the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System Phase 2 project, led by PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency with the consulting firm Jacobs and the engineering company UES Holdings Pte Ltd. For this project, HUBER is proud to supply a total of 10 Band Screens CenterMax® and 4 Screenings Wash Presses WAP® for the screening and subsequent washing of the collected screens from Tuas WRP’s domestic used water stream. CEO and Shareholder Georg Huber personally received the delegation together with Senior Sales Director Franz Heindl, Harald Fierment, Raphael Baier, Fernando Gonçalves and Patrick Plank as well as Hsien-Li Ooi and Sivabalan Chandrasagaran from our subsidiary HUBER Technology Asia-Pacific Pte Ltd in Singapore. We started the FAT visit with a dialogue session, which saw all parties sharing diverse perspectives and served as a good platform to facilitate the exchange of ideas. The FAT involved a rigorous inspection of the machines, including functional and performance tests, to ensure that all machines meet the technical specifications and the highest quality standards before it is ready to support and enhance productivity in our operations. HUBER and MENA Water Implement First Turnkey Project for Solar Sewage Sludge Drying in Muta Mazar, Jordan ✅ Currently, much of the sewage sludge in Jordan is either stored in open areas or placed in unsuitable landfills, negatively impacting surface and groundwater quality and contributing to high methane emissions. Our project aims to improve the economic and ecological sustainability of sludge management in the region. In just ten months, we have completed the construction of a state-of-the-art facility, featuring the HUBER Sludge Turner SOLSTICE®. This innovative system will process 1,500 tons of sewage sludge annually from a population of 70,000, achieving a dewatering performance of 20% DS in a greenhouse measuring 12 x 80 meters. The facility operates sustainably and climate-neutrally by harnessing solar energy. The HUBER SOLSTICE® is designed for ease of use and reliability, allowing for manual feeding with wheel loaders. The treated sludge will be transformed into alternative fuels, industrial raw materials, or compost additives, turning waste into a valuable resource.
