Back after a long break and this time on #CorporateGovernance (CG), co-authored by my dear friend and fellow Liwaa Tarabay and published by LexisNexis Middle East. This brief study attempts to explain the concept of CG and offers an overview of its current legislative framework in #Lebanon and the #Gulf, notably in #UAE and #KSA who seem to be rapidly advancing on the subject. This article further provides practical examples on the efficiency of CG tools in enhancing the governance of companies that implement them, whether listed or not, and sheds light on the most successful practices. While Lebanon's legislation remains far from complying with the international CG standards, the amendments brought to its commercial law in 2019 are useful for advancing the good governance of Lebanese Companies and this article will give you some practical recommendations on how to implement that.
