The #RailFreightCorridors contributed to the EU-Ukraine #SolidarityLanes by providing the transport volumes, more specifically volumes at border-crossing points, related to the Solidarity Lanes. These figures, collected from the Infrastructure Manages and shared with DG MOVE on a monthly basis from June 2022 until December 2023, were appreciated by the #EuropeanCommission as they were said to be valuable to understand the traffic trends along the #SolidarityLanes and to identify the bottlenecks hindering the transport of agricultural products. Since May 2022, the EU-Ukraine #SolidarityLanes have been keeping imports and exports between Ukraine, Moldova and the EU moving, despite Russia's war of aggression. In the early days, we used them to get around Russia's blockade of the Black Sea, supporting in particular Ukrainian grain exports and humanitarian aid via EU rail, road and inland waterways. Where do we stand 2.5 years on? ✔ Solidarity Lanes now cover all sectors of trade, from fuel to steel, and imports as well as exports. ✔ They have led to new business connections between companies from EU, Ukraine and Moldova and generated a trade value of more than €180 billion between us. ✔ We invested ca. €2 billion of EU funding to improve EU-Ukraine rail and road connections, and to speed up border procedures, for example. ✔ We integrated Ukraine and Moldova into the EU transport network – the TEN-T – and both countries now have access to EU funding for transport infrastructure. The Solidarity Lanes have brought us closer than ever before. And we won't stop here. #StandWithUkraine 📽️ Watch the Solidarity Lanes in action in Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia and Estonia ⬇ https://lnkd.in/eBtStkRk

Maurienne Rockslide updating Due to major site hazards and the discovery of unstable cavities, the reopening of the railway line will not be possible before the 1st quarter of 2025. SNCF Reseau immediately prepared a joint communication with the State services and the Savoie Departmental Council to inform the public at large of this postponement. In fact, since the landslide on 27 August, Infrastructures Managers have lost a considerable amount of revenue due to the interruption of rail traffic on this route. Not to mention the cost involved in this project, which requires a high level of technical expertise! All the organizations involved are more than ever mobilized to continue the work that is leading to the restoration of the railway infrastructure. Priority is also being given to the winter season: SNCF Réseau, SNCF Gares & Connexions, SNCF Voyageurs, and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region are confirming that the arrangements put in place last winter for services to the Maurienne ski resorts for Christmas and the winter holidays will continue.
