𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 “𝗺𝗲𝗵”
– 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.
Working from home, drafting offers, reviewing legal contracts – all part of the job, but at some point, my creativity and legal wording reserves were just drained.
And then, our 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 UNICEF NextGen Summit started – and suddenly, my Monday wasn’t so “meh” anymore.
For over a year now, I’ve been part of Unicef NextGen, a network of the next generation of donors supporting Unicef. As part of the Leadership Circle, we had the chance to pre-select and present projects to our members – one of which we’ll fundraise for in 2025.
The topics?
𝗦𝘂𝗱𝗮𝗻 (4 million children under 5 are malnourished), 𝗗𝗷𝗶𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶 (70% of women experience FGM), and 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘄𝗶 (building an African Drone & Data Academy and solar-powered water pumps). Every single one of them matters – but one project truly spoke to my heart:
🩵 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱.
Big Bad Boo Studios 💚 was founded by Aly Jetha and his wife 20 years ago. Their team of creatives, educators, and psychologists (including some from Sesame Street!) develops 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝘀, 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 – reaching even those in war zones. They teach kids how to engage with the world in a healthy way, offering role models where nothing else remains, and providing something every child deserves: a future, a healthy (mental) life – and also - just a little fun.
Check out their work – I absolutely love it. And if you’re curious about BigBadBoo, UNICEF NextGen, or any of the other fantastic projects, just let me know!
✨ Sometimes, all it takes is a shift in perspective to turn a drained Monday into a fulfilling day.
