Some welcome news for WA’s tourism and hospitality sector from Crown Perth today: it plans to expand its food and beverage operations in 2026 with a new high-end dining precinct and bars, catering to increased visitor demand. Crown aims to diversify its offerings, enhancing family-friendly and upscale dining experiences while solidifying its role as a key hospitality destination in Perth. While the Burswood complex is already Western Australia’s largest single-site employer, the expansion also brings positive news for job growth in the region. We look forward to seeing how these developments will progress… https://lnkd.in/gRSHU56D

The Australian Hotels Association (WA) has today welcomed the announcement that the WA Government and Director of Liquor Licensing’s suite of 54 policies has been cut to 14, making it easier for hospitality operators to do business. The reforms will result in many of the policies becoming only fact sheets to better reflect their purpose, while duplication and outdated requirements have been removed, streamlining the licensing process and making it more easily understood for existing licensees and new applicants. The changes are the most significant reduction in red tape and business simplification in the past 30 years. The AHA(WA) will continue to advocate for the WA Government to progress with comprehensive legislative reforms, including removing restrictive and antiquated conditions, and modernising trading hours to help create a more vibrant and resilient hospitality scene. NEW ‘SLEEP UNDER THE STARS’ ACCOMMODATION OPTION AT PERTHS KINGS PARK THIS WINTER The Australian Hotels Association (WA) has congratulated the Cook Government on the news that visitors to Kings Park can stay and sleep under the stars as part of a ground-breaking accommodation initiative being trialled this winter. It will be the very first time that visitors can stay overnight in the park. The accommodation, to be operated by WA-based provider Heyscape, will comprise eco-friendly cabins with a bed, kitchenette, Wi-Fi and environmentally friendly bathroom amenities. Prices start at $495 per night, with a minimum two-night stay. The trial will run from 7 June to 28 July and coincide with Lightscape, an immersive light and sound experience that attracted close to 180,000 visitors last year. AHA(WA) CEO Bradley Woods warmly welcomed the proposal, describing it as a fantastic new tourism product and one that Perth and Western Australia needs. “Kings Park is one of Perth’s best-known tourist destinations, but it’s generally only visited during the day, so to have the chance to sleep under the stars in this iconic location is an exciting one that will have people talking,” said Mr Woods. “It will be a truly special experience, giving tourists unique memories of our city that few others will ever hold," he said. “The WA Government is to be congratulated on bringing this initiative to life, as it’s an important step in leveraging unique opportunities and balancing environmental protection.” Reece Whitby Roger Cook Rita Saffioti MLA Tourism Australia Tourism Western Australia Angela Beechey Kim Forrester
