About us

We are a boutique Tax and Accounting Practice based out of Melbourne but servicing clients across Australia and the World. The philosophy we follow at CA is simple - Demystify Tax. We seek to break up tax legislation into bite-sized pieces that can be used in everyday business management and applications. The more we educate our clients, the better the working relationship gets. We help set up business structures and manage them on a day to day basis - running payroll and lodging BAS', completing Tax Returns and giving general advice on Tax Planning at year end. We also offer our services at a Capped Cost. Established in 2012, our practice has grown its client base and industries serviced quite rapidly and continue to do so. Industries serviced include Health, Hospitality, Medical, Tech Startups, Professionals and Not-For-Profit among others.

  • As 2024 draws to a close, we’d like to reflect upon the year that has been and wrap up our wins and challenges as well as give thanks. The first big thank you goes out to you, our wonderful clients. Without you, none of this is possible. We’ve welcomed a few fabulous new businesses and bid farewell to a few as we continue to do our best to serve your needs. We thank you for your patience as we well as your support when we needed it. Second, my thanks goes out to my wonderful team. It’s well known that a great team is the first sign of a great business and I thank them for making me look good. They’ve allowed me to take a breath, be less stressed and take a few holidays with the family. Lastly, I’d like to thank our associates and referral partners for taking care of our clients and allowing us to provide a more holistic service. Caliyan Associates grew once again in revenue making it the 10th consecutive year of continued growth. Despite weak economic conditions and ever increasing costs to do business, we managed to navigate through keeping our fees affordable. The increased ATO activity around compliance was evident; we can now see the first signs of AI and data matching coming through in the ATO’s communications. Foreign income has become a target along with rental property deductions. We’ve seen the stress in the property market, with a lot of our clients offloading Victorian properties due to the combined attacks from high interest rates and land tax. We’ve also witnessed cash flows drying up in the face of falling demand and skittish buying sentiment. All in all, it’s been a year most clients would be happy to see the back of. Looking towards the future, we’ll be investing more into our team and our systems to increase turnaround times and service standards. Well shall look at growing again and expanding into different markets and locations. Most importantly, we’ll try to increase our intervention for clients who need help with their compliance needs. We’re now closing up for the Xmas 🎅 break and shall resume on Monday 6th Jan. Once again, I extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has helped CA navigate the year and here’s to looking at a bigger, brighter and better year ahead 🎉🇦🇺🥂

Yesterday, I had a productive morning networking over breakfast with the SEN Radio Team(Sports Entertainment Network) whom we are sponsoring for this year from Bank of Queensland. Accompanied by Clayton Collins, Owner Manager of 455 Bourke St, and some incredible businesses they've partnered with! It was a fantastic opportunity to connect, share insights, and explore potential collaborations and great chat about AFL games. Special thanks to my accountant @Mike Kay from @Caliyan Associates for joining me and adding valuable perspectives to the discussions. Special guest at the event were Damian Barrett from AFL, Dwayne Russell Sports Commentator and Young Harry Sheezel, North Melbourne Football player. Here's to building strong business relationships! 💼☕ #Networking #BusinessPartnerships #CollaborationOpportunities 🤝🎉 #BOQWerribee #CommunityPartnerships
