Who will benefit from this lunchtime webinar? The answer might surprise you. 👀 Because it’s often assumed that when Mandatory Climate Reporting comes in from 1 January, it will mainly affect the first group of large Australian organisations. But, in less than 2 months, these Group 1 organisations (some of Australia’s largest, most well-known companies) will need to start gathering emissions data from their suppliers. 👉🏼 That will affect thousands of businesses throughout Australia. 👈🏼 So join us next week - lunchtime on Wednesday 20 November - to find out how to prepare, along with experts Tai Lennon, Abbie Freestone from Rewild Agency and special guest Shane Morgan from SHAPE Australia for the Q&A session. ✅ Register here to feel more informed and prepared for the biggest change in climate reporting in Australia: https://lnkd.in/gfYyw9pt #webinar #climatereporting #ASRS #lunchandlearn #supplychain

Do you have questions about Mandatory Climate Reporting like these ones? 👀 Last month, we teamed up with Rewild Agency to host an insightful webinar on the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) and how the changes starting January 1 could affect thousands of businesses. During the session, we had some fantastic questions come through in the Q&A, including: 💡 Will smaller businesses outside Groups 1, 2 or 3 face future reporting requirements? 💡 What qualifications should we look for in third-party auditors or consultants for assurance? 💡 Does Climate Zero offer demo sessions for your software? 👉 (Yes, we do offer demos – you can book via our site or reach out to our Team KB (Katherine) Buzza, Pete Brownstein or Tai Lennon directly). Do you have similar questions? Catch the answers and more in our webinar recording: https://lnkd.in/gwwkpVMa The countdown is on – let’s make sure you’re prepared to navigate these changes with confidence. #webinar #climatereporting #ASRS #lunchandlearn #supplychain

🤩 What a week! What a team! Our national Climate Zero team has spent the last week together IRL(!) deep in planning and more importantly reflection. It’s been a HUGE year for us launching our latest carbon accounting and climate literacy training products exactly one year ago. 🙌 To say we are proud of what we have accomplished in the past 12 months is an understatement. As always there is much to do and we will continue to enhance and develop our products, listening closely to the needs of our amazing customers but it is so important to stop and reflect on how far we have come. Of course there was some time for fun too. Congrats KB (Katherine) Buzza for taking out the Fun House Gold!🥇 Can’t wait for our next one team! COP29 is underway. What are we watching out for? 👀 Each year the urgency of its subject matter increases as global temperatures hit record highs and extreme weather events affect more people around the world. It can be hard to see progress… But this year, we’ll be watching out for 2 main things: ✅ The convention’s focus on finance: How will countries obtain the trillions of dollars needed to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and protect lives and livelihoods from the worsening impacts of climate change? ✅ Countries presenting updated national climate action plans under the Paris Agreement. Ideally, these would double as investment plans advancing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. COP29 is on in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11-22 November 2024. Officially, it’s the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). You can find out more & follow along here: https://lnkd.in/gr2rvqhb #cop29 #climatechange #climateaction #sustainability

We love a well-made building. But what does “well-made” actually mean? 🏢🤔 Personal style preferences aside, “well-made” is becoming synonymous with quality, sustainability and circularity too. Is it possible for our built environment to become circular? The reality is, it needs to, as a recent article by Usha Iyer-Raniga from RMIT University, points out. Because: 🏢 In 2020, 55% of all global material demand was associated with the built environment and mobility. 🏢 Material use has grown by an average of 2.3% per year and increased by a factor of 3 over the past 50 years. 🏢 If not checked, material resource extraction could further increase by almost 60% from 2020 levels by 2060. See the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gkwi9iD9 Pretty sobering statistics, but imagine if we could make this circular? 🟢 That’s exactly what recommendations released this year under the UN’s Building Breakthrough agenda include. The 10th recommendation – titled Design for circularity – recommends that: “New buildings should become the material banks of the future.” What sustainably made buildings do you love in Australia? #sustainability #sustainablebuilding #builtenvironment #circulardesign Photo of the 6 Star Green Star, Green Building Council of Australia rated Pixel Building in Carlton, Melbourne.
