That's a wrap! Our team has come together in the true spirit of the season through our Holiday Appeal, supporting Project Kindness and Dandelion Support Network Inc. These organisations do incredible work, providing essential items and care to families and individuals facing hardship. It’s been heartwarming to see the gifts growing under our tree, the generosity of our team has been overwhelming. This morning we celebrated these efforts with a festive breakfast, reflecting on the impact we’re making together. Hi-Vis Santa and his hardworking elves brought extra cheer as we prepared these donations to be picked up and sent off to the families who need them most. This initiative is a powerful reflection of our values: Collaboration, Integrity, and Excellence. Safety remains central to everything we do, and not just in our work across the networks we manage, but in how we care for one another and the wider community. Thank you to everyone who have contributed to making this year a success. Your commitment and teamwork have been so valued, and we look forward to building on this as we head into 2025. To our crews that will continue to keep our communities connected to essential infrastructure networks over this holiday period, we thank you for your dedication - please stay safe out there! Wishing you all a safe, happy, and restful holiday season. #Excellence #Collaboration #Safety #ConnectingPeopleAndPlaces #Kindness #MakingADifference

Did you know the Sydney Harbour Zone includes over 1,000 km of state roads, 9 million square metres of asphalt, 1,700 traffic lights, 268 bridges, and hundreds of school safety zones? This vital network stretches from Sydney’s coastline to Galston in the north, Strathfield in the west, and Milperra in the south—connecting millions of people and places every day. In partnership with Transport for NSW, we are entrusted with the management of the Harbour Zone. As a joint venture between Boral, Service Stream, and Johnson Controls, we deliver essential road corridor services to this bustling zone. From pothole repairs to intelligent traffic systems, bridge maintenance, and green space upkeep, our team works year-round to keep Sydney moving. Highlights of our work • Canterbury Road Improvement Project: Delivered extensive pavement reconstruction across 7,116 square metres of concrete slab replacement and 3,052 square metres of asphalt works, ensuring safer journeys for Sydney commuters. • Spit Bridge Maintenance: One of Australia’s few remaining lift bridges, The Spit Bridge is critical to 75,000 vehicles and 35,000 bus passengers daily. Our team operates and monitors this iconic structure 24/7, ensuring smooth passage for both road users and vessels navigating Middle Harbour. Our work doesn’t just maintain infrastructure—it impacts the lives of residents, workers, and visitors by improving safety, reducing congestion, and creating a more resilient transport network. By embracing innovation and collaboration, we’re helping to shape a smarter, more sustainable Sydney. At ConnectSydney, we’re proud to deliver on our mission: Connecting People and Places. #Infrastructure #Innovation #ConnectingPeopleAndPlaces

Our team recently laid EME2 asphalt with 15% RAP (reclaimed asphalt pavement) on a one-kilometre section of Pittwater Road, achieving a first for NSW. This innovative mix reduces material use, enables thinner pavements, and maintains structural strength - setting a new standard for sustainable road construction. This milestone demonstrates the potential for greener, smarter road-building practices across the region. As a joint venture of Boral, Service Stream, and Johnson Controls, Connect Sydney is proud to lead the way in delivering infrastructure that supports a sustainable future. #Sustainability #Innovation #ConnectingPeopleAndPlaces

  • Such a great way to address the importance of standing united against family and domestic violence. At Connect Sydney, we share this strong commitment to making a difference and supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our people and the communities we serve. Through initiatives like supporting Bayside Women's Shelter and raising donations for the Dandelion Support Network Inc as part of our holiday appeal, we aim to assist families and victims of domestic violence and contribute to meaningful change in our community. Thank you to Service Stream for highlighting this important issue and leading by example.

Today, on International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, also known as White Ribbon Day in Australia, we at Service Stream stand together to acknowledge the ongoing challenges of family and domestic violence across Australia. As part of our commitment to making a difference, we partnered with the Salvation Army to deliver a session on Constructive Bystander Behaviours to our workforce last week. This session empowered our people to be active allies and advocates in the fight against family and domestic violence, highlighting the important role each of us plays in supporting victims and survivors. We were privileged to have experts from the Salvation Army lead this critical conversation, and on White Ribbon Day, we reaffirm our dedication to taking action and standing united against family and domestic violence. If you or someone you know needs support, help is available. Today, we celebrate and congratulate 24 outstanding leaders and the first cohort to complete our newly revamped WomenRise Program! In partnership with Success2you, we relaunched our women’s leadership program this year with two tailored courses aimed at unlocking the full potential of emerging and senior female leaders across Service Stream. These programs were designed to accelerate both their professional and personal growth, helping them navigate the challenges of leadership while strengthening their impact across the organisation. Throughout this intensive program, participants demonstrated remarkable resilience, dedication, and passion. They not only grew individually but also supported one another in breaking barriers and paving the way for future generations of women leaders at Service Stream. Graduation ceremonies this week saw executive leaders and managers come together to support the graduates, and hear powerful stories of empowerment, self-belief and transformation from these inspiring leaders. Congratulations to all our WomenRise graduates - we know this is just the beginning of new opportunities, welcome challenges and greater successes! 🚀 🚀 #KeepingCommunitiesConnected #WomenRise #WomenInLeadership

We’re excited to celebrate Coen’s achievement as the first ConnectSydney apprentice to complete his full trade certificate! Coen joined through Aboriginal Employment Strategy ltd, starting as a casual electrical worker. Throughout his apprenticeship, he’s gained invaluable experience in traffic signals and electrical systems, growing both professionally and personally as part of our team. Coen shared that he has always felt supported and grounded with us, thanks in large part to ITS Maintenance Supervisor Aron Walters, whose encouragement has played a key role in his development. He describes being part of our team as “refreshing,” enjoying the hands-on, flexible outdoor work and the opportunity to explore Sydney. We’re excited to continue supporting Coen’s growth and development as he furthers his career with us. It’s moments like these that highlight our commitment to fostering growth and providing a supportive environment for apprentices and emerging talent in the industry. Congratulations, Coen, on your well-deserved success, and we look forward to seeing your continued growth with us! #ConnectingPeopleAndPlaces #CareerProgression #SupportingEmergingTalent #IndustryExcellence #CommunityImpact

At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we pause for #RemembranceDay and acknowledge all those who suffered or died in wars, conflicts or peace operations protecting our nation. At Service Stream, we celebrate the veterans we employ and recognise the tremendous contribution veterans have made to Australian communities and workplaces. As signatories of the #VeteranEmploymentCommitment, our commitment to supporting veterans is demonstrated through our partnerships with both Working Spirit Ltd and RSL Queensland, and in our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Action Plan, with a strategic focus on creating supports for veterans and their families throughout their employment at Service Stream. In the video below, we hear from Stephen Fenton, a Royal Australian Air Force veteran and HSEQ Business Partner at Service Stream, on what Remembrance Day means to him and how he honours those who have lost their lives in service to our country. We will remember them. Lest we forget. #KeepingCommunitiesConnected #Veterans #LestWeForget

In honour of Road Worker Day of Remembrance, we’d like to acknowledge the efforts of Roads Australia, along with organisations like SARAH GROUPS and the Traffic Management Association of Australia (TMAA), who tirelessly raise awareness of the dangers road workers face daily. We’re proud to support initiatives that bring attention to these risks and promote safer outcomes for those who keep our roads in working order. Our priority will always be ensuring that road workers return home safely to their loved ones after every shift. #RWDOR24

Last year 1,266 people tragically lost their lives on our roads. While this shocking number is well understood by all Australians, what is less understood is the danger faced by our road workers – the people who build, maintain and operate our roads to keep us safe.   Over a ten-year period, there has been an average of 18 fatal worksite crashes and 245 serious injury crashes recorded annually, and many crashes and near misses in work zones are significantly underreported.   We’re seeing our roadworkers face life-threatening risks on a daily basis and fatalities continue to occur at these work sites. But many of our road workers have tragically lost their lives simply doing their jobs – which is to ensure our roads are in good working order. Roads Australia is proud to work with SARAH: Safer Australian Roads and Highways Group, the Traffic Management Association of Australia (TMAA), Australian Flexible Pavement Association (AfPA), and Roadmarking Industry Association of Australia to raise awareness of the dangerous condition faced by road workers around Australia, and to encourage our members and industry to acknowledge Road Worker Day of Remembrance (#RWDOR or #RWDOR24) this year.    It is an important day in our nation’s broader discussion on road safety, and we will continue to encourage practical solutions wherever possible that help ensure a safer outcome for road users across Australia. There's still time to show your support for #RWDOR: https://lnkd.in/gy3cAyck

Our commitment to mental health and safety has been highlighted in Service Stream’s latest Sustainability Report, spotlighting our dedication to creating a safer, more supportive workplace. Our Onsite Psychology service by Axis, introduced as winning idea of Safe Work Month 2023, continues to provide our team with accessible, confidential coaching and workshops to support mental wellness. Additionally, a physiotherapist from Bodycare Workplace Solutions visits once a week to support injury prevention and overall wellbeing. These initiatives are helping us build resilience and strengthen our team culture. For Safe Work Month 2024, we expanded our wellness efforts with a SAFEtea presentation and Leadership Workshops focused on mental health awareness. These activities equip our leaders and team members with the skills to support each other and encourage open, meaningful conversations. Our ongoing Environmental, Social, and Governance efforts and ConnectSydney’s own Sustainability Policy demonstrate our commitment to creating a positive impact and lasting legacy for our people, communities, and the environment. Our recent ISC Operations Rating of 47.3 points underscores our dedication to sustainable practices. This high score, which surpassed our initial KPI, reflects our team’s positive impact in driving long-term change within the industry. Each of these initiatives reinforces ConnectSydney’s dedication to a sustainable and supportive workplace.
