  • Signage plays a big role in shaping a place’s identity—it helps people find their way and adds to the overall character of an area.   We’re excited to see our signage designs come to life at Civic Heart in South Perth. As part of our signage strategy for this new residential precinct, our designs help create a seamless and modern experience for residents and visitors.   Civic Heart is bringing fresh energy to the Mends Street Precinct, with two iconic luxury apartment towers and fantastic amenities, including a wellness spa, outdoor gyms, theatres, a kids' play area, and a private sky deck on level 37. On the ground floor, a mix of food and hospitality venues—like The Station, which has transformed the heritage-listed Old South Perth Police Station—adds to the vibrancy of the area.   Our signage reflects this new identity—modern, minimalist, and easy to navigate—helping people explore and enjoy everything Civic Heart has to offer.   It was a pleasure working with Finbar Group Limited and @timdavislandscaping on this project. #wayfinding #signage #placebranding #placeidentity

  • Have you walked or cycled on Boorloo Bridge yet?   Boorloo Bridge is a transformative addition to Perth’s urban landscape, enhancing connectivity between South Perth and the CBD, while celebrating the area’s deep cultural heritage.   Element Advisory Part of SLR is proud to have played a key role in shaping this project, delivering planning, public art, wayfinding, and cultural interpretation to ensure the bridge is not just a piece of landmark infrastructure, but also a much-loved asset with a meaningful connection to place.   Collaboration was central to our approach. Working alongside a diverse team — including the Matagarup Elders Group — our work ensured that the bridge authentically reflects Noongar history and culture. Through interpretation signage and public art, these important stories have been brought to light and shared with the wider community.   We are incredibly proud of this project and the opportunity to contribute to a place that deeply respects and celebrates cultural significance. Our team is now bringing this approach to new infrastructure projects across WA. Watch this space!   Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing the Boorloo Bridge vision to life. • Congratulations to Parron Development, Atmos Renewables, Zephyr Energy and the project team on securing development approval for WA’s largest wind farm yet!    Years in the making, the Parron Wind Farm located in Badgingarra in the Shire of Dandaragan will be capable of exporting up to 489MW of electricity to support the SWIS and help WA transition to a cleaner energy future.   Through the pursuit of integrated Development, Environment and Aboriginal Heritage regulatory approvals, this project will deliver a brighter future for all.  It has been designed to maximise energy output whilst avoiding impacts on environmental values and working with the Yued Corporation to better understand and respect potential cultural heritage significance.    Consolidating the collaborative working relationship with Shire of Dandaragan through the development assessment process, this project supports regional liveability in WA’s windy wheatbelt region. It sets a new benchmark in the race for renewables, aligned with the Clean Energy Council’s aspirations for Community Benefit and committing to $1000 per mw of constructed MW capacity over the 35 year project life.    Having achieved critical project status for fast tracked connection, the Parron Wind Farm is carving out an exciting new pathway towards a socially, environmentally and economically sound future – diversifying risk for traditional agriculture, sharing new opportunities for regional communities and generating green power for the benefit of WA at large.    Emerge Associates, Aurecon, Porter Consulting Engineers, Aviation Projects and Herring Storer Acoustics #development #renewables #sustainability #planning

  • Since 2023, Element Advisory Part of SLR and Real Asset Management Group have been working to enable development of a hospital on the site of the existing Woodbridge Medical Centre in Cooloongup. This required an amendment to the Local Planning Scheme. We gained support from the City of Rockingham in April 2024, and the proposed scheme amendment was advertised in July. Together with our project partners, Bridge42, HSPC Health Architects, PLACE Lab and Urbii, we are pleased to announce the latest project milestone. The City of Rockingham has endorsed the scheme amendment. We’ll now seek approval from the Minister for Planning, anticipated to be in the first quarter of 2025. #development #planning #advisory #health

  • The redevelopment of Uniting WA’s Wyn Carr House has reached a milestone with the project officially launched by Housing and Homelessness Minister, Hon. John Carey MLA. Element Advisory is privileged to contribute to this important initiative. Wyn Carr House is designed to provide a safe, supportive, and healing environment, integrating trauma-informed design principles while honouring the legacy of the heritage-listed building which served as a refuge from 1978 to 2019. Once complete, Wyn Carr House will provide 12 bedrooms with ensuites and communal living spaces for older women experiencing or at risk of homelessness, complemented by wraparound services such as counselling, tenancy support, and other critical resources. This transformation has been made possible through a collaborative effort involving the WA State Government, Lotterywest, Housing All Australians, and a dedicated team of pro bono partners. It is a joy to work alongside Cox Architecture, MinterEllison, Western Projects, RPS Group, Planning Solutions, Arup, Tim Davies Landscaping | Design + Build + Maintain | Commercial and Residential Projects WA, MNG, Code Group, Rider Levett Bucknall RLB, Colgan Industries, Galt Geotechnics, Print and Sign Co, TJ Peach and Associates, braincells, Strategic Fire Consulting, Inc. & Powerledger.

MORE THAN $7 MILLION FOR HOMELESSNESS SUPPORT FOR WOMEN Fantastic to join UnitingWA, the Member for Fremantle, and project partners yesterday at the Wyn Carr House site. The Cook Government has awarded more than $7 million to Uniting WA to deliver this renewed transitional accommodation service for women over 55. The 12 bed facility, with onsite support services, will be critical to supporting the most vulnerable members of our community in the Fremantle surrounds. I am proud to lead a homelessness strategy that has delivered a record investment of nearly $140 million across 120 services throughout WA just this year. Tackling homelessness is the responsibility of all tiers of government, and I congratulate the City of Fremantle for their involvement in the project, as well as the private partners that supported the proposal. There is always more to be done, and I am committed to continue doing everything we can to accelerate delivery and boost housing supply across Western Australia.

Station St is a transformative development that will reignite the energy of Cottesloe’s town centre. The design uses local materiality like sand and limestone to extend Cottesloe’s context, from the coastline to the historic quarries. A truly mixed-use development that will bring significant amenity to the community with two apartment towers, a lifestyle hotel and a world-class hospitality precinct. With Cottesloe METRONET railway station a stone’s throw from the precinct, Station St will become a benchmark in Transit Oriented Developments, encouraging walkable streets for residents and sustainable transport options for visitors. It’s been three years of careful planning with Element Advisory and Sirona Urban to take the first step in activating the town centre with a vibrant urban precinct for residents, visitors and the Perth community. Congratulations to the team for reaching this significant milestone.  #Hotel #WesternAustralia

  • Element Advisory is proud to have assisted DevelopmentWA with development approval for the base build and enabling works at the historic Boiler House and chimney stack, at 1909 Subi East, on the site of the former Princess Margaret Hospital. DevelopmentWA is calling for visionary operators to activate the place through food and beverage, commercial, and/or community uses. Transformation of this landmark is set to form the heart of the future Subi East precinct, which has been named ‘1909’ to celebrate and acknowledge the year the hospital first opened. Expressions of Interest are currently open via DWA. Image credits: 1 (DevelopmentWA), 2 (TRCB).

  • Element Advisory is a proud multi-award winner at the recent Planning Institute of Australia WA Awards! The Kal City Centre Redevelopment won three categories: Great Place, Regional Project and Minister's Award. This visually striking project has transformed the heart of the Goldfields into a vibrant community hub. The high-quality public realm showcases innovative design features like cooling strategies and a bespoke and engaging playground inspired by the iconic Silky Pear. Andrew Howe and Bronwyn Slater worked alongside ASPECT Studios, iredale pedersen hook Architects, and Josh Byrne & Associates for this very successful City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder project. The Royal Perth Hospital Flightpath Protection by Element's Lewis Shugar was up for nomination. This project focused on facilitating approvals for an upgraded helicopter landing site, assessing proposed flight paths, and engaging key stakeholders across State government, local authorities, and aviation specialists. Through extensive analysis and reporting we supported a comprehensive development application, and we're proud that all scheme amendments have been formally adopted by the relevant local governments and approved by the Minister, safeguarding vital infrastructure for Western Australia. We’re also thrilled to announce that Stephanie Tan, one of our new student planners, won the Eric Lumsden Award for her high academic standard in her studies. Keep up the fantastic work, Stephanie!   Congratulations to everyone involved in these impactful projects.
