Our co-founders Angus McDonald and Christine McDonald attended #ASMEX2024 last week, meeting lots of great people who are also interested in how to make the maritime sector more sustainable. Angus was on the "Electrification, hybridisation and the switch from conventional fuels" panel and spoke about how important #EnergyOptimisation tools like #iHelm are, debunked some myths around maritime decarbonisation, discussed what are the most pragmatic solutions we are left with, and introduced the Maritime Emissions Reduction Coalition (#MERC) to delegates. Our CEO Angus McDonald gave a talk on Decarbonising Commercial Vessels at the Australian Commercial Marine Group's ACM Conference in Sydney today. One of the key takeaways was the importance of efficiency measures in the short term. They save fuel, which both saves GHG emissions and money.
