The Australian Government will provide $5.2 million in funding for projects that will accelerate quantum solutions for key national challenges. Round 1 of the Critical Technologies Challenge Program (CTCP) will fund feasibility studies for diverse projects across 14 consortia. These include: - a high-speed optical scanner to aid diabetes assessment - quantum computing for energy systems in remote communities - GPS-free communications and navigation for autonomous systems - quantum optical sensors to support rare-earth mining - diagnostic tools for detecting ‘invisible melanoma’. The $36 million program is part of the Australian Government’s National Quantum Strategy.
