Last week we celebrated the completion of Phase One of the incredible See Me. Hear Me. Respect Me. Campaign. The campaign aims to break down the barriers between healthcare professionals and people with disability. The stars of the campaign, including our very own QDN members, key stakeholders and the people who made it possible, all came together!

Nothing about us, Without us.
About us
Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN) is a state-wide organisation of, by, and for people with diverse disability. All our work is focused on disability rights and advocacy. QDN’s work is centred around a strong network of people across Queensland and almost 30 peer support groups which inform, connect, lead, and influence change. We believe there should be ‘nothing about us without us’ We are a vibrant, active network of influencers, decision-makers, spokespeople, consultants, group members and peer leaders with a drive to make change happen. We also work on projects that align with our vision and mission around important issues in the lives of people with disability. We believe it’s important to work together with communities, services, business, industry and government to lead and influence change.

We’re supporting Community Service organisations to engage employees with disability in 2025. Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN) is partnering with uLaunch to match six community service organisations with six, eligible interns. Internships will be available to Queensland residents living with disability. Interns may hold VET or tertiary qualifications under a Graduate Internship or Internship for those without formal qualifications. Each employer will be offered: - An incentive $15,000 covering wage costs for 12 weeks to employ Graduate Interns and Interns in varying positions and levels. - A dedicated Inclusion Consultant with disability to provide advice and assist employers with broader access and inclusion goals. - FREE membership to a Community of Practice, who champion change and encourage community services organisations to hire more people with disability. Last week, the Queensland Disability Peak and Representative Network organisations had the opportunity to meet with Minister Amanda Camm to discuss current issues and our shared commitment to improving the lives of Queenslanders with disability, their families and the sector. Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN) is the executive peak and provides an overarching leadership and coordination role across the funded disability peak and representative organisations. Collectively our organisations have over 500 years of history of disability leadership, services and support in Queensland. As the executive peak, QDN looks forward to working with Minister Camm and the Crisafulli Government during this important time of disability reform for our community. Here’s a snapshot from the day with Minister Camm and the leaders of the disability peak organisations.

Earlier this year, the whole world watched as Paris hosted the Olympic and Paralympic Games. What did we learn from Paris? What will their legacy be? How can we use this experience to create a transformative shift for people with disability to benefit Queensland in 2032 and beyond? QDN has brought together an expert panel including Rachel and Josh who were there in Paris to explore these questions. Expert Panel • Josh Bavas - who reported live from Paris for Channel 9 • Rachel Watson OAM - Australian Paralympian • Julie Saunders - Director at Urbis, a consulting firm offering services in planning, design, property, social planning, economics and research. The Panel will reflect on the Paris Games and their experiences from the lens of a competitor and media on the ground.
