Since starting as a 19-year-old Lifestyle Assistant in 2012, Alec has dedicated himself to enhancing residents' lives at Regis Dandenong North. Advancing his career to Personal Care Assistant, a role he finds incredibly rewarding, Alec continues to go above and beyond for the residents. "Helping residents with daily activities and bringing them joy is the best part of my job," he said. Alec's journey from a shy high school graduate to a qualified, compassionate team member highlights his personal and professional growth. "I feel like I'm part of a big family and look forward to many more years of service. I aim to reach at least 20 years with Regis, and I don't intend on stopping there," he said. Alec cherishes the special moments with residents, from dress-up days to happy hour dances and celebrating special occasions. Selected as designers for the 2024 Eco Fashion Week Australia (EFWA), they showcased their creativity and wisdom, repurposing materials into stunning fashion pieces. Their work highlights the timeless benefits of recycling and resourcefulness. Participating in EFWA has brought our residents a renewed sense of purpose, strengthened community connections, and fostered intergenerational bonds. Regis is thrilled to announce we have completed the acquisition of two Melbourne-based premium residential aged care Homes in Capel Sound and Mornington, from Ti Tree Operations Pty Ltd. The addition of Regis Capel Sound and Regis Mornington, increases Regis’ residential aged care portfolio to 69 Homes nationwide. Joanne joined our team as a Lifestyle Coordinator in October 2022, but her journey in aged care dates back to 2006. With years of experience, she brings confidence and ease to her role, leading her team to deliver innovative and meaningful activities that enrich the lives of our residents every day. Marcelle has been a dedicated part of the Magnolia family since 2005. With 19 years of experience, her passion for her role remains as vibrant as ever. “I truly love what I do, and after all these years, I still feel excited every time I walk into our Home and see the residents,” Marcelle shares. Marcelle understands that continuity is essential, especially in dementia care. Familiar faces bring comfort and a sense of security to residents who may feel confused or unsettled. “Having consistency in our team helps residents feel more at ease, especially on days when they may not recognise everyone around them,” she notes.
