As we can all agree hunger, clothing and housing are basic needs, access to period products and hygiene is so unachievable and expensive for many. The cost associated with period products have forced people to use alternative means which can compromise hygiene and safety, leading to health implications. The burden these health implications bring upon the government and the society is far more than that of making these products available to all. Period poverty can have broader implications, such as affecting attendance at school or work, as individuals may miss out on educational or professional opportunities due to their inability to manage their menstrual health effectively.
