Production has commenced in WA's South West on the highly anticipated second season of MYSTERY ROAD: ORIGIN, with WA actors Mark Coles Smith, Tuuli Narkle and Clarence Ryan reprising their lead roles from season one. Along with the State Library of Western Australia, we're pleased to announce short documentary initiative, WA Reflections, is back for a third year. Selected filmmaking teams will receive up to $25,000 production funding per project to produce a short documentary film, creatively utilising items from the State Library’s archive collection. We're inviting interested applicants to attend an archive storytelling workshop on 30 November. Facilitated by award-winning WA documentary filmmaker Nel Minchin, the workshop will provide an overview of how to transform archival content into compelling universal stories. We've launched our new Targeted Industry Capacity Building Program, made possible through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries’ workforce capacity support for the WA screen industry. The program is designed to fill industry capacity gaps in longform scripted drama, fast tracking growth in key sectors of the WA screen industry to better service growing production levels in the State. The program is calling for bold ideas to increase the capacity in the following sectors: - Unit - Lighting - Gripping/Rigging; - Catering The application deadline is Thursday, 6 February 2025 at 5:00pm AWST.

The six-part observational series takes viewers behind the frontline of our strained medical services and joins patients on their emotional journeys through the system. Our Medicine shines an important light on First Nations professionals and communities taking control of Indigenous health.
