Thanks Good Design Australia - this was one of the highlights of our 2024! 😀
Congratulations to the Sleeptite team on winning two Australian Good Design Awards for the Sleeptime Remi Smart Bedding System for Aged Care and the Sleeptite Remi Dashboard. In partnership with Monash University and RMIT, Sleeptite is transforming sleep and safety for independent living. The REMi® system leverages innovative, non-invasive sensors to discreetly monitor users’ sleep and assess falls risk from the surface of the bed. Well done to the entire design team!

Time flies... when you're passionate about what you do! After a ridiculously busy 2024, the little team at Sleeptite will be shutting the office for the next 2 weeks, in order to recharge our batteries ahead of a massive 2025. Thank you to all of our friends and supporters for sticking with us through all the trials and tribulations that a #DeepTech innovation company face on a daily basis. The office reopens on 6th January 2025!

📣 Taking Sleeptite to the world 📣 Last week, with the incredible support of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) our Founder & CEO, Cameron van den Dungen GAICD , exhibited the full suite of technologies and products that we have to offer to #GIES2024 in Hong Kong. #GIES2024 is a collaboration between the HKSAR Government and the The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) 香港社會服務聯會 (社聯) and is co-organised with the HKSTP - Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation … it is an event and a platform to bring together all key stakeholders in the #agedcare & #disabilitycare sectors to discuss and colaborate on the adoption of technology to better the lives of clients of the various #healthcare sectors. To say that the interest in Sleeptite and our products / technologies was overwhelming would be a gross understatement… we have never been more energised to continue our mission to deliver dignity and respect back to the lives of those requiring #assistivetechnology … thank you to everyone who made this trip and this event possible… particularly: Catherine Dai , Helen Dai , Angela Ng , Minister Don Farrell , Alison van den Dungen , Andrew Tucker, PhD , RMIT University , Sharath Sriram , Professor Madhu Bhaskaran FTSE , Ed Husic MP , Department of Industry, Science and Resources

💥 From Hong Kong to Fed Square... the Sleeptite team are EVERYWHERE! 💥 *yes, the rhyming was intentional* 😁 Sleeptite CEO, Cameron van den Dungen GAICD, is currently in Hong Kong for GIES2024... a meeting place for #AgeTech #Innovators across Asia to meet, discuss and collaborate to advance products and technology that support the global elderly population. Here's a little behind the scenes clip that he posted yesterday that gives a glimpse into the daily life of a DeepTech Founder. In good news... all Tech Checks passed with flying colours! This afternoon he sets up the stand ahead of the Conference opening day tomorrow. Taking you behind the scenes of a Founder taking Sleeptite to the world… essentially the reality behind the “glamour”. 🤣 This week, with the incredible support of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), I will be displaying several of our products and technologies at #GIES2024 - a summit, conference and expo that brings the Asian #AgeTech community together! This conference is jointly organised by the The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) 香港社會服務聯會 (社聯) and the HKSAR Government and with the support of HKSTP - Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation . The reality is that international trade shows come with challenges when you are displaying tech… infrastructure, freight, wifi access, and more importantly getting the tech to survive the rigours of commercial flight baggage handling! 🤦♂️… the fact that I have had to travel from Melbourne - Sydney - Bathurst - Sydney - Melbourne - Singapore - Hong Kong without going home (or back to the lab) for the past fortnight has added some additional stress over how the tech would stand up being transported through so many flights and locations. Therefore you can leave nothing to chance and always have to do #techchecks. Fingers crossed everything has survived the travels and works faultlessly across the remainder of the week… just like it does back in Australia! Special thanks also to Global Victoria for their support with meetings in Singapore last week… it looks very likely that we will have some exciting news to come out of South East Asia in 2025! 😎 Catherine Dai Angela Ng Ed Husic MP Department of Industry, Science and Resources Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions Anika Wells Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care Victorian Department of Health Stuart Bland Jason Fuller Dr Phil Davies RMIT University Natalie Hutchins MP

Two-thirds of older Australians don’t feel prepared for the upcoming bushfire season, a statistic that may be related to evacuation concerns including poor health and mobility. With bushfire season fast approaching, data in a recently released report by Youi highlights that some older Australians may need to adjust their approach to preparing for bushfires. While this may seem like an interesting message coming from a company with a focus on Sleep health, our Co-Founder and COO Alison is a CFA Volunteer and fire safety is close to her heart. As the we head into summer, we ask that you check in with your older family members, friends and neighbours to make sure they are comfortable and prepared – especially if you live in a fire prone area.

An estimated 3 million Australians provide care for family members and friends and this week we celebrate and recognise them through #NationalCarersWeek (13 – 19 October). The 2024 theme ‘Millions of Reasons to Care’, aims to broaden the awareness of Australian carers who represent a diverse range of cultures, ages, experiences and responsibilities, but all of them balance of caring responsibilities with other responsibilities like work, study and their physical and mental health. Unpaid carers are some of Australia’s most committed unsung heroes and we thank them for all that they do. Carers Australia

We recently had the opportunity to meet with Tim Richardson and his team to bring him up to speed on the products we are designing and building for the aged and disability care sectors. Tim was able to get a first-hand look at our REMi technology which will help monitor people (in facilities and private homes) from the surface of a mattress providing insights and alerts to those who care for them. As Parliamentary Secretary for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention he was also interested in the potential future use cases our technology REMi could have in the mental health bedroom to help patients get a better night sleep while providing a safety net for carers and loved ones. Tim's commitment to community care, health infrastructure and local business is to be commended, and we look forward to keeping him informed with what is next for us.
