After a ridiculously busy 2024, the little team at Sleeptite will be shutting the office for the next 2 weeks, in order to recharge our batteries ahead of a massive 2025. Thank you to all of our friends and supporters for sticking with us through all the trials and tribulations that a #DeepTech innovation company face on a daily basis. With bushfire season fast approaching, data in a recently released report by Youi highlights that some older Australians may need to adjust their approach to preparing for bushfires. An estimated 3 million Australians provide care for family members and friends and this week we celebrate and recognise them through #NationalCarersWeek (13 – 19 October). The 2024 theme ‘Millions of Reasons to Care’, aims to broaden the awareness of Australian carers who represent a diverse range of cultures, ages, experiences and responsibilities, but all of them balance of caring responsibilities with other responsibilities like work, study and their physical and mental health. Unpaid carers are some of Australia’s most committed unsung heroes and we thank them for all that they do. Carers Australia

We recently had the opportunity to meet with Tim Richardson and his team to bring him up to speed on the products we are designing and building for the aged and disability care sectors. Tim was able to get a first-hand look at our REMi technology which will help monitor people (in facilities and private homes) from the surface of a mattress providing insights and alerts to those who care for them. As Parliamentary Secretary for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention he was also interested in the potential future use cases our technology REMi could have in the mental health bedroom to help patients get a better night sleep while providing a safety net for carers and loved ones. Tim's commitment to community care, health infrastructure and local business is to be commended, and we look forward to keeping him informed with what is next for us.
