Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the start of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence—a global call to end violence and raise awareness. In Australia, 1 in 4 women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence from an intimate partner since the age of 15. Thread Together assists women and children escaping domestic violence by providing them with immediate access to brand new clothing via our wardrobe and capsule service. This service offers brand-new sleepwear, underwear, socks, and loungewear, as soon as they arrive at a shelter, bringing comfort and dignity when it’s needed most. 💜 We are very grateful to receiving funding for our wardrobe and capsule service from a number of partners including Goodman, PAYCE Foundation, Commonwealth Bank, Afterpay, Pillow Talk Australia, DISSH, James Frizelle and Collie Foundation. #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #ImmediateSupport #WardrobeAndCapsuleService #CommunityCare

Bringing New Threads to the Sydney Street Feast! Last week, we had the privilege of attending the 6th Annual Sydney Street Feast – a celebration of community where hundreds gathered to connect. Last week, we had the privilege of attending the Seamless Showcase at NSW Parliament, where they unveiled new clothing benchmarking data and highlighted the change-makers working towards a circular clothing economy. The model pictured is wearing an outfit designed by TAFE Fashion Design Studio students, made up of 53 items—the average number of new garments bought by an Australian each year. It’s a stark reminder of how much we consume and the impact we can make by embracing a circular approach. Thread Together was proud to partner with Collective Leisure at their recent community football event, supporting individuals on their journey to mental health recovery.
