Congratulations AltMobility on your Series A! Since we led Alt's Seed round, we have seen them smash every milestone. Their continuous month on month growth makes it no surprise that they've successfully closed a $10m Series A from some of the worlds best firms. Transport emissions represent 12% of total GHG emissions in India - the country with the 3rd largest carbon footprint in the world. This goes to show, their progress in driving decarbonisation is nothing short of game-changing. Here are three snippets from our latest blog post: ▶️ 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐬-𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲: Per megawatt, renewable energy technologies (E.g. Solar and Wind) require minerals up to 15 times more intensively than traditional fossil fuel systems. ▶️ 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬: By 2030, supply shortfalls of 10% will emerge for copper, lithium and nickel whilst graphite and rare earths will start to see deficits from 2035 onwards. ▶️ 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Declining ore grades and geopolitical concentration of minerals are accelerating the requirements for technological development. 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥: 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Most homes are still heated with fossil fuels. Despite growing pressure for low-carbon alternative, gas boilers still dominate residential heating in the UK and Europe. Our latest investment, Adia Thermal, is addressing this challenge head-on by making heat pumps a viable, cost-effective solution for homes previously reliant on gas. 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘈𝘥𝘪𝘢? Adia’s innovative system combines hardware with advanced machine learning algorithms, enabling heat pumps to be installed without the costly and disruptive home modifications typically required. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭: 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭. ▶️𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞: When combined with the UK’s £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme, Adia’s system reduces upfront heat pump installation costs to as low as £1,500—undercutting highly emitting traditional gas boilers. ▶️ 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Adia-enabled heat pumps can be installed in just 1-3 days, bringing them in line with gas boiler timelines and opening the previously inaccessible distressed boiler breakdown market. ▶️ 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞: The system allows the UK’s 130,000 gas boiler engineers to install heat pumps with little additional training. By making heat pumps easier and cheaper to install, Adia could seriously move the needle on the 18% of emissions attributed to gas boilers in the UK. We’re excited to partner with B.
