At UndaTech, we specialise in developing protective and performance undergarments for Defence, First Responders, and high-risk workforces. Co-founded by veterans with over 30 years of combined experience, we understand the critical need for gear that not only protects but also enhances performance in the most demanding environments. Unlike commercial options, which often contain flammable and hazardous materials, our undergarments are designed to be fire-safe, durable, and comfortable, even when worn under heavy equipment or for extended durations. UndaTech is redefining the protective ensemble and industry safety standards to ensure that our frontline workforce is not only safe but also operating at their best when it matters most. By initially focusing on fire-safe products for women, we aim to better support frontline female personnel, enabling them to wear heavy equipment and perform high-pressure duties for longer durations, thereby maximising operational performance and overall capability.

The UndaTech team recently spent three days in Adelaide attending the Defence Trailblazer Technical Incubation workshop. It was an excellent opportunity for networking and participating in intensive workshops, as well as attending the MAST conference.
Last week, we welcomed defence industry, and defence industry organisations Australian Industry & Defence Network - South Australia (AIDN SA) and Defence Teaming Centre to ThincLab to network with our DINAMIC Technical Incubation cohort. The evening was a tremendous success, showcasing the vital role of collaboration among start-ups and SMEs in raising visibility within the defence supply chain. Thursday’s 𝟭𝟬𝘅 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼 𝗗𝗮𝘆 was a true celebration of success 🎉 Each startup from across streams: All Industries 10x, Health 10x, Bio 10x, Climate 10x, and Defence 10x brought thoughtful and innovative solutions to some of the world’s toughest problems. But the real spotlight? It belonged to our founders. In front of 350 attendees, they shared a vision of where the future is headed. This was the best Demo Day! So many great companies, so much traction gained since the start of the program- not 1, but 4 🤭 founders were not able to pitch because they were too busy kicking goals in other places. 💪🏽💫 However, their teams are so strong, that they all nailed their pitches. Liz Daly's courage and leadership in the face of extreme danger is nothing short of extraordinary! Her unwavering dedication to her duties, even while unarmed in a high-risk conflict zone, is a testament to the strength and resilience of women in Defence.
The Winner of the 2024 Women in Defence Awards in the Operations category is Liz Daly. Liz is a United Nations Military Observer in the Australian Army. On October 7 2023, Hamas led surprise attacks against Israel from the Gaza Strip by land, sea, and air. As an UNMO Liz, and two other UNMOs, found themselves unarmed and locked into an Observation Post (OP) on the Border of Israel-occupied Golan and Syria for the first 23 days of the conflict. She and another UNMO saved the compound from burning down when the fuel dump was threatened by fire. Liz is also completing a PhD part time focused on female Veteran Health. In 2023 Liz found herself in an unexpected, highly dangerous situation, she did an exemplary job in not only saving the UN Observation Post and occupants from fire but managing the compound for the first 23 days of an ongoing conflict. She initiated Induction Training to educate the new UNMOs on unconscious bias, equality, and inclusivity. Liz co-created and runs a Peer Support program for junior health officers in Army.
