It’s always a privilege to see the vital role of Engage Marine’s tugs and crews highlighted, especially as part of Sydney Harbour’s maritime story. David Jones beautifully captures the importance of preserving our working harbour and the contributions of the cruise industry to Sydney. A big thank you to 7News’ Angelique Opie for sharing the stunning footage of Pacific Adventure’s arrival and for adding to the rich narrative of our harbour. We’re proud to continue supporting Sydney’s cruise industry alongside passionate advocates like David and Paul Nicolaou. #SydneyHarbour #CruiseIndustry #EngageMarine #LeadingChange
One of the great experiences of 13 years in the cruise industry was on occasions being invited by the Engage Marine team to go out on their tugs to meet and guide cruise ships heading to their berths in Sydney Harbour. Tug master Dom McCarron is one of the great characters of our harbour city. It was great to be on the harbour again recently with Engage in my current role at Business Sydney. An opportunity with Paul Nicolaou to illustrate the importance of cruising to Sydney and the need to retain Glebe Island as the only remaining area of working harbour. 7News’ Angelique Opie joined us on the pre-dawn trip to the Heads and certainly did justice to the fantastic footage of Pacific Adventure’s arrival by Vincent Salvato. I hope Sydney always has a need for tugs in our fantastic harbour. Well done to Angelique and 7News for adding to the harbour narrative.
