🌟 Celebrating the impact of Future Proof 🌟 Over the past three years, Future Proof has empowered young people in bushfire-affected communities to lead recovery initiatives, strengthen resilience, and contribute meaningfully to disaster preparedness and response. This project, funded under the Australian Government's Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants program, driven by collaboration and youth leadership, has demonstrated the power of investing in young people as key agents of change. We extend our thanks to all the partners, young leaders, and communities who brought this vision to life. #FutureProof #YouthParticipation #YouthLeadership #CommunityResilience #BlackSummerRecovery

After 3 years of delivery, our Future Proof project is coming to an end 🥲💚 Since 2022, Future Proof has brought together 14 partners to drive amazing recovery outcomes for fire-affected young people and communities. The project was place-based, networked and flexible, and used ethical youth work principles to engage, support, train and connect young people in recovery projects and community decision-making. Future Proof was funded under the Australian Government's Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants program. We are so proud of what has been achieved. It was wonderful to celebrate at our wrap event this week, held in Melbourne Town Hall. Thank you to everyone involved! #Disaster #Resilience #YouthWork #Training #YoungPeople #Recovery #Victoria Australian Government National Emergency Management Agency Junction Support Services

Today is #TransDayOfRemembrance, a day to both mourn and honour the lives of trans people lost to discrimination and transphobia 🏳️⚧️🕯️CW: discussion of transphobia and suicide. . . . The Coroner's report investigating transgender deaths in Victoria was released in August 2024. The report made a series of recommendations to increase funding for access to gender affirming care, and for police to update data collection on all gender identities. We must keep the Victorian government accountable and ensure that all recommendations are implemented in full. They must invest in community-led services to improve mental health and wellbeing support for trans and gender diverse young people. 👉Read TGV | Transgender Victoria's statement: https://lnkd.in/g3R9aifE 👉 Share Zoe Belle Gender Collective (ZBGC)'s resources about gender affirming healthcare: https://lnkd.in/gA8QXgPe 👉 Register for TGV | Transgender Victoria's in person or online vigil: https://lnkd.in/eGHq3uuM https://lnkd.in/ggmpEAu5 Support is available if you need it: ⭐ QLife - 1800 184 527 ⭐ Rainbow Door – call 1800 729 367, or text 0480 017 246 ⭐ Suicide Callback Service - 1300 659 467 ⭐ 13 YARN - 13 92 76 ⭐ Lifeline - 13 11 14 #YoungPeople #Advocacy #LGBTQ #LGBTIQA
