With the frames for two out of the three floors now complete, the team remains on track to finish this first phase by autumn 2025! 👏 We are in charge of the design and construction of phases 1A and 1B of an advanced, turn-key 40 MW data center, which aims at meeting the increasingly digital demands of communities. #BESIXNewProject • We are delighted to announce that BESIX and Denys have been selected to build Holcim's groundbreaking #GO4ZERO plant in Obourg 🇧🇪! 🎉 ♻️ The project is set to reshape cement manufacturing, aiming to produce up to 2.3 million tonnes of CO2-neutral cement annually by 2029. Central to the facility will be an advanced air-oxyfuel switchable kiln, equipped with carbon purification technology. Over 95% of its energy will come from alternative fuels, with a goal to eliminate fossil fuels entirely. 🏗️ The scope of work includes constructing over 70 structures in just 15 months, including a 60 m-high silo building, carried out using sliding formwork and integrating an inverted concrete cone. 👏 Our subsidiary Franki Foundations is currently leading the deep foundations works, which are on track for completion by February 2025. #BESIXupdate • Progress on the Scheldt Tunnel is advancing on all fronts! 🇧🇪 🏗️ At the port of Zeebruges, TM COTU teams are preparing the 8 Scheldt Tunnel elements for their transport to Antwerp. This includes waterproofing, installing ballast tanks, and reinforcing each section with up to 900 steel cables. 🙌 Meanwhile in Antwerp, the tunnel entrances for this 1.8-kilometre-long tunnel are taking shape, with concrete works well underway. #BESIXnewproject • Proud to announce our strategic partnership with PerPetum Energy and Rebel to support De Watergroep‘s ambitious goal of achieving energy neutrality in Flanders by 2030! 🇧🇪 🤝 Together, we will develop, build, finance, and maintain renewable energy facilities on De Watergroep’s sites, aiming to produce 92 GWh annually. Through a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement, we will sell to De Watergroep the amount of green energy equal to their total annual electricity consumption, directly sourced from our installations. 🌱 Our project will feature wind turbines, floating solar panels, and advanced battery storage solutions. Additionally, our installations will be nature-inclusive, incorporating flower meadows, amphibian ponds and nesting sites. 💶 Investment costs will for the most part be financed through crowdfunding and crowdlending, making this project one of the largest crowdfunding campaigns in Europe. #BESIXupdate • Digging deep for the Nordhavn Tunnel in Copenhagen 🇩🇰! 💪🏗️ In collaboration with MT Højgaard Danmark, our team is hard at work in the Danish capital to build this 1.4-kilometre cut-and-cover tunnel, which will span 700 metres beneath the harbour. 🚧 After successfully navigating recent challenges with the groundwater lowering system, excavation is progressing smoothly again, now reaching depths of 6–7 metres out of the planned 14. #BESIXmilestone • We are excited to share that BESIX and Indaver have begun construction on Aquafin's groundbreaking sludge processing plant in the port of Ghent! 🎉 ♻️ Located on the site of ArcelorMittal Belgium, this state-of-the-art facility will recover energy from the wastewater of 4 million inhabitants. Once operational, it will handle two-thirds of Flanders’ household wastewater sludge. 🤝 BESIX and Indaver are responsible for the plant's design, construction, financing, operation and 20-year maintenance. #BESIXupdate • Track laying work has commenced at Rail Baltica's Riga Central Station Project 🇱🇻! 🛤️ 🏗️ Together with RERE Grupa and Rizzani de Eccher , we is designing and building Riga's new central station and a 1-kilometre railway bridge across the river Daugava as part of the RB Rail AS | Rail Baltica initiative, which aims to integrate the Baltic States in the European rail network. 💪 Last week, the first kilometre of 1520 mm wide railway tracks was installed using a specialised track laying train. These new tracks will temporarily accommodate train traffic through Riga on the south side of the station. #BESIXupdate • Exciting progress at Antwerp’s #Oosterweel Link project! 🇧🇪 💪 🤩 In the northeast, the TM ROCO joint venture is advancing with the concrete work for over 100 pillars and installing 900 girders for the Bypass. This temporary road will manage traffic as the iconic Merksem viaduct is replaced by a sunken highway. 🚧 Meanwhile, our teams are diligently working on the construction pit for the Canal Tunnels, with sheet piling works in full swing! A special visit at Zayed National Museum | متحف زايد الوطني in Abu Dhabi 🇦🇪! 🤩 🙌 Recently, H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, visited the Zayed National Museum in the Saadiyat Cultural District to witness its construction progress. 🏗️ Set for completion by the end of 2025, the museum's construction by BESIX Middle East and JV partner Trojan Construction Group is well underway.
