What an amazing week! It has been a true pleasure to represent EOPSA - European Onshore Power Supply Association at the climate port conference "Advancing towards decarbonisation of the maritime-port sector in Spain" organised by Alianza Net-Zero Mar in A Coruña, Galicia, Spain. It has been very inspiring to meet delegates from across Spain and learn about the ongoing efforts, initiatives, challenges, and progress within the Spanish maritime ecosystem as it strives to meet the European Union's 2030 and 2050 climate targets. Many thanks for inviting me as a panelist during the OPS-session "Panel discussion on power needs and distribution for supplying electricity to ships in Spanish ports": together with very knowledgeable panelists from Redeia, Puertos del Estado, Endesa, aelēc and Grupo Iberdola. Million thanks to the brilliant team behind this successful three-day conference: Eva Perez, Jorge Miguel Lara López, Ignacio Benítez Sánchez, Pilar Sánchez and Emma Casanova - your rock👏👏👏. I am very impressed by your work and achievement. Special thanks to Port of A Coruña, the facilities of Navantia FENE and Galaxy-Lab, the centre for advanced experimentation in Artificial Intelligence of the ITG technology centre, for sharing your time and experience during the afternoon visits. I have not listened to and talked so much Spanish in a looong time, which has been great fun. What a speed you talk😲. And I must say I feel somewhat proud that I delivered my message as a panelist in Spanish😉. Some of all new words in Spanish this week are: Descarbonización, combustibles fósiles, solar aéolica, emisiones de gases contaminantes, calentamiento global, red eléctrica, impacto medioambiental, eco-proactivo, diligencia en la gestión ambiental, incentivar, huella de carbono, combustibles neutros en carbono, suministro a buques, generación renovable marina, combustibles net-zero, el pacto verde, cuello de botella, plataformas de negociación. Happy Friday everyone! Hasta pronto! #netzeromarGalicia #decarbonisation #OPS #AFIR #OnshorePowerSupply #EOPSA #SustainablePorts #Electrification #CleanEnergy
