We had the opportunity yesterday to showcase some of our new R&D projects, funded by FOD Economie / SPF Economie / FPS Economy, at the second edition of the #EnergyTransitionFund or short #ETF day in Ostend. ✅ FISSCK - investigating the clay soil for the foundation of the future offshore energy hub in the North Sea | Bruno Stuyts ✅ COMOSEA - developing fleet wide monitoring of corrosion in offshore structures via SCADA data from the ICCP system | Bart Teerlinck ✅ OWI CREATE - aims to advance the Belgian offshore wind knowledge & expertise in national & international market by setting up a unified offshore energy centre of excellence | Bram Cloet 🎤 Our OWI-Lab VUB-partner Christof Devriendt moderated the session on 'Renewable offshore energy' in the context of ETF, highlighting why Belgium is a frontrunner in the #offshorewind sector and what R&D support is needed to stay on top, also including the viewpoint of WindEurope and our Belgian industry. 🙌 Many thanks to Capucine Vannoorenberghe (WindEurope) Jochem Vermeir (Parkwind) Erwin Leys (Belgian Offshore Cluster vzw) and Tom Willems (Seacoop)
