Protect against eye disease
About us
Vision plays a tremendous role in preserving our independence, productivity and happiness. A loss of vision can devastate one’s quality of life. We know an increasing number of Canadians are finding it difficult to access the appropriate medical expertise they need to care for their vision, and as a result over 1 million Canadians are living with blindness that could have been prevented. Today, according to public health estimates, 8 million Canadians are currently living with an eye disease that may lead to blindness. Our mission at Euclid Telehealth is to make expert eye care accessible to all Canadians in a convenient and accessible way, removing the barriers of cost and inconvenience to allow access for everyone. At Euclid Telehealth we are pursuing this mission, in collaboration with the Galen Eye Centre. This Kingston-based clinic was founded in 2011 by Dr. Delan Jinapriya, a physician and surgeon specializing in eye care with a world-class approach to glaucoma treatment. With partners like Dr. Jinapriya, the Galen Eye Centre, and soon many others across the country, Euclid Telehealth is both excited and honoured to bring expert eye care, convenience, early detection, and ultimately the prevention and treatment of vision loss to all Canadians.

The recent passage of Bill C-284, the National Strategy for Eye Care Act by the Government of Canada marks a significant advancement in the country's commitment to eye health and vision care. This legislation sets forth a comprehensive framework to develop a national strategy to improve eye care and rehabilitation services, invest in research to provide treatments and cures, increase accessibility and promote eye health education nationwide, ensuring all Canadians will have access to essential eye health services. We extend our gratitude to the members of Parliament and Senators for championing this vital legislation, including the Hon. Judy A. Sgro, who proposed Bill C-284 as a private members bill. Their dedication to improving the health and well-being of Canadians has culminated in a significant policy achievement that will have a lasting impact.
