The unglamorous byproduct of filmmaking—all the waste produced. 🗑️ From excess materials used in set construction to single-use plastics served at craft services, the environmental footprint from just one production is massive. To prevent waste from entering our landfills, sustainability needs to be implemented and budgeted for. This week in the world of sustainability for film, I had the pleasure of connecting with Aaron Regan from Blue Diamond & Net Zero Equipment & François Cornet from EODev to discuss exciting opportunities with hydrogen in the future of Australian film. I really enjoy the learning part of this job- and indeed I learnt a lot! Thanks guys! 🌱 It was also fantastic to catch up with Andrew Robinson, M.Sc., SPEC from the Green Spark Group during their visit from Vancouver. It's always inspiring to share wins, learn from each other, and see how global practices are evolving... and where practice is making progress. 🌟 One of my main highlights, as always, is being on set with Kylie the Koala and Pete the Possum. We hear firsthand what’s working, and seeing sustainability in action.
