We have some VERY exciting news: our team was recently awarded $100k grant to distribute our devices in East Africa! This was made possible by Acumen’s East Africa Forcibly Displaced Peoples Capacity Building Program. Through the program, by mid next year we are planning to deliver devices to displaced individuals in Rwanda and Kenya! We hope to make a huge impact in these areas through the lense of safe dairy. Big thank you to Brian Ondeng and the Acumen team for believing in our mission, and including us in this amazing initiative.

Bringing safe milk to East Africa and improving the livelihood of farmers
About us
Safi is providing East African farmers with a cost effective and accessible pasteurization device that kills milk-borne diseases such as brucellosis, mastitis, salmonella, and even MERS, a coronavirus 10x deadlier than COVID-19. The device is compact, does not require power and allows farmers to easily pasteurize their daily yield. The mission of Safi is two-fold: to provide safe drinking milk, especially to children and pregnant women who rely on milk for essential nutrients, and to help farmers rise out of poverty through the increased revenues from selling pasteurized milk.

Safi is in Kenya! We are doing demos with a big group of dairy farmers to showcase the difference between pasteurizing milk with the Safi device and traditional boiling. Huge thank you to Cleophas Chesoli for being so helpful in coordinating with the farmers and supporting our initiative! If you are in Kenya and want to connect, feel free to drop us a direct message!
