  • If you're in construction, there is a high possibility you're hiring right now... There are many tools that are used for the hiring process: - You can use Indeed or Bamboo - You can hire a recruiter - You can sponsor ads on social media One tool that is often over-looked is video! Video can help bring your company to life for future recruits. Whether it's hearing from recent hires, or employees that have been with the company for 20+ years, their stories can be impactful! Here is one of a few videos we created for B&B Contracting Group for their recruitment campaign going into Spring! #hiring #recruits #constructionindustry

  • Last week, we had the opportunity to capture Fabtech Design and Build welcoming students to their shop space in Chilliwack, and touring a jobsite in Langley with Chris Munro from Zenterra Developments. This provided an opportunity for students to get some hands-on experience with plans, tools and lumber, as well as seeing the final product installed on site! It's companies like Fabtech and Zenterra that are really making an impact, changing the perception around construction and helping solve the workforce problem! Great work! #redefiningconstruction

Next Generation Trades EXPO! This year, TruGrit is excited to be partnering with Canadian National Trades as part of their annual Trades Expo! This event has been running for the past 10 years and has been a great way for students (and the general public) to connect with the Trades and get a hands on tools experience! Last year saw 2600+ people come through the doors, many of which were youth (Grade 10-12), looking for career options! We reach out to and invite students from the districts of Chilliwack all the way to North Vancouver! (So far we have 700 youth registered for this year's Expo!) We still have some spaces open for exhibition. If you are a company that values your employees and wants to build into the next generation dubbed 'GEN Z - The Toolbelt Generation', then this event is for you! For this event to be successful, our exhibitors are encouraged to have the mindset: 'You get out what you put in!' This means, if you show up with some brochures, you most likely won't see the benefits of attending... HOWEVER If you show up with awesome tools and interactive activities for the attendees, you will be helping Trades Expo serve it's purpose to educate and inspire people to search for a career in the trades! You will also have the opportunity to showcase your business, and talk face to face with the next generation! Trades Expo is specifically targeted to construction and the trades! Let's create a space that is engaging, hands-on and focussed on learning and teaching 💪 If you would like to know more, shoot me a DM or an email and we'll get you all the details you need! #redefiningconstruction #bringbackthetrades #constructionindustry

  • Tis the season for.....Golf tournaments!! Except this time, take your team :) Spending a day out with your employees is a great way to build your culture in a relaxed atmosphere! Yes, it's time away from the job site when the weather is nice...yes it's money spent, but it's appreciation shown, and your team will value that!! 📸 - The @legacywindows team enjoying an afternoon of golf last year

I help construction companies with their branding and marketing

I see incredible potential on the horizon... This week I had the great pleasure of meeting a handful of amazing individuals, who all in their own way are extremely passionate about construction, and the future of the industry. To say it got me fired up would be an understatement :) I'm coming away from this week in Calgary encouraged, excited and inspired for what's coming!! As I continue to meet more owners, leaders, managers and field staff, it is becoming more and more apparent that we need to come together as an industry. We need to put aside the 'gate-keeping' and 'secret sauce' talk, and start learning, sharing and growing together. I guess one of the advantages I have, is being able to jump between many different businesses in construction, and connect like-minded individuals. We've got people like Martin Socha and Greg Epp who are crazy cool advocates for the electrical sector as well as the next generation of construction. Then we have Matea Herauf who has a larger than life personality, a lot of field experience, and is also a huge proponent of breaking down barriers in the industry surrounding women in the trades. I also had the opportunity to spend some time with Josh Arnold who is building a really cool company and breaking the stigma surrounding 'the next generation doesn't want to work'. All of these people have one thing in common. They want to see other people succeed. And if that isn't our focus in this industry, we're going to fail. It's time to come together, Always Value People, Be Joyful, Communicate Clearly and Drop our Ego's 💪 Let's GO! #redefineconstruction #valuepeople #constructionindustry
