This is a fair well - after 7 years, I resigned as Head of the International Program for Development Evaluation Training #ipdet. When I think back over the past 7 years there is no shortage of stories. The most memorables are the ones, I had the privilege to experience with so many wonderful people from around the world who gave me the opportunity to grow as a person. I learned so much: about the different countries and cultures, difficult situations due to war and crisis, personal challenges in life - and of course interesting evaluation cases. But above all, what made it so special, was that we always enjoyed some laughter, danced and sang together … To all of you I met in the past 7 years, thank you for your trust, commitment and courage! I wish you all the very best for the years to come. Keep standing up for a better future and a better world and promote evaluation for this reason, as I will continue to do so! Steffi

🌟🎬 Highlights of IPDET On-Site 2024! Join us for a five-minute journey through the highlights of IPDET On-Site 2024. Over two intensive weeks, 165 participants from 71 countries came together with 22 expert instructors to learn, connect, and collaborate. Through hands-on sessions and in-depth discussions, attendees explored new evaluation approaches and strategies to drive evidence-based change in their own communities. Hear from participants as they reflect on key insights and practical takeaways, celebrating a shared passion for evaluation. After seven years, the successful collaboration between the Center for Continuing Education (ZUW) at the University of Bern, Switzerland, the Center for Evaluation (CEval) in Saarbrücken, Germany, and the Independent Evaluation Group of the World Bank (IEG) on IPDET has come to an end. In 2025, the University of Bern will become the sole implementer of IPDET, marking the start of a new strategy under the framework of the GEI. Deep appreciation goes to the whole CEval team for the successful cooperation, their enthusiasm and commitment, and thereby, valuable contributions to the professionalization of evaluation. Last week, in Jeddah I completed the training on “Fundamentals of Evaluation” provided by the International Program for Development Evaluation Training- IPDET. Not only I learned a great deal about how to develop and implement an evaluation framework in the context of MDB but also gained new friends from 12 different countries during the interactive sessions and the entire program. It was also a great honor to receive my certificate from the Vice President of the Islamic Development Bank, HE Mr. Anasse Aissami. Das International Program for Development Evaluation Training IPDET gehört zu den Aushängeschildern der Weiterbildung der Universität Bern und wird vom Zentrum für universitäre Weiterbildung in Partnerschaft mit der Global Evaluation Initiative (GEI) der Weltbank umgesetzt. 2025 werden neben dem Sommerprogramm in Bern zwei neue regionale Programme in Ländern des globalen Südens eingeführt. Für das renommierte Programm suchen wir auf den 1. Januar 2025 oder nach Vereinbarung eine/n Finance Officer IPDET (40%). Die Stelle ist zunächst bis zum 31.
