The new circular, which will enter into force on 1 January 2025, provides FINMA's interpretation and guidance on certain obligations under FinSA and FinSO. It covers important topics such as information duties about financial instruments, associated risks and costs, rules on appropriateness and suitability tests, handling conflicts of interest, and securities lending. With these updates, financial service providers must ensure that their internal policies and processes align with FINMA’s expectations.
