A vision is gaining momentum! Just a few days ago, we had the pleasure of hosting Anjes Tjarks, Minister for Transport in Hamburg, alongside selected media for a first ride in #Hamburg with the prototype of the ID. Buzz AD. It was an exciting day with fascinating insights and interesting discussions. And it marked an important milestone in our journey at #MOIA and ADMT Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles What’s next? Internal testing with employees has already started, and next year we will open the test phase to a selected group of customers.     Check out the video for first impressions! 👇🏽

🚀 Another inspiring step towards the future of mobility at the latest #asut colloquium, where SAAM was proudly represented! Here are some key highlights from the day:   👋 A warm welcome to Christa Hostettler, the new Director of the Office fédéral des transports OFT , who made her first official appearance during the event.   📊 Survey insights from the event (see pictures): #Automateddriving and sharing & pooling clearly emerged as key solutions for reliable and safe transportation of the future. Publicly accessible pilot projects also stood out as a critical measure to build trust in #autonomousvehicles.   🌍 Global inspirations: #Oslo’s ambitious modal share goals for 2030, presented by Endre Angelvik from Ruter As, demonstrate how #autonomousmobility is becoming a core focus for urban planning. #Hamburg’s initiatives, led by Harry Evers from New Mobility Solutions Hamburg GmbH, highlight the importance of integrating autonomous systems into public transport networks. ✨ A special mention: Sigrid Pirkelbauer from Office fédéral des routes OFROU spotlighted SAAM in her presentation (thank you, Sigrid!). It’s always an honor to see our efforts recognized on such prominent platforms.   👏 A big thank you to asut for organizing this outstanding event, and to Andreas Kronawitter for his contributions to advancing autonomous mobility.

🚍 SAAM Hosts the First #AutoDepot Prototype Stakeholder Meeting!   SAAM is thrilled to announce the successful first meeting for the AutoDepot project, a visionary effort to tackle Europe’s pressing #drivershortage and redefine depot operations. On November 1st, we gathered at TPG’s En Chardon depot—a state-of-the-art facility—to introduce the #prototype concept to an impressive lineup of stakeholders from public transport, government, and technology sectors including: Daimler Truck AG, IVECO, Man Group, Planzer, embotech, Office fédéral des transports OFT, HEG - Genève, LaLoG LandLogistik GmbH, Verein Netzwerk Logistik Switzerland - VNL Switzerland, CarPostal SA, SwissMoves, Transports publics fribourgeois - TPF, #Unikie, Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich, AMAG Group, Bernmobil, Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe BVB The AutoDepot prototype leverages centralized infrastructure intelligence with minimal vehicle sensors, enabling buses to autonomously navigate the depot at a controlled speed of 3 km/h under #remotesupervision. This approach not only optimizes operational efficiency but also holds the potential to save up to 15,000 driver hours and CHF 600,000 annually per depot.   Thank you to tpg transports publics genevois for hosting us and to all the partners who attended and showed enthusiasm for this game-changing project. 🚀 Thrilled to recap the highlights of our last #SAAMDay in Rotkreuz, hosted at the dynamic Mobility Société Coopérative! 🤝 Insightful Presentations and Key Discussions: ✅ Automated Shuttles by Blees: Martyna Wisniowska and Łukasz Wójcik presented their advancements in #automatedshuttles, focusing on safety, scalability, and future regional expansions. They emphasized ongoing collaborations with Solaris and outlined new strategies to enhance operational speeds and safety measures. ✅ Study Trip Insights – Autonomous Vehicle Operations in the USA: Anna Chirkova (AMAG Group) and Nicolà Gabriel (Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich) shared valuable learnings from their recent trip to #California, spotlighting Waymo’s progress in autonomous operations. They discussed the integration of #autonomoustransport in #SanFrancisco, touching on essential lessons from regulator interactions and the importance of optimized curbside management. ✅ Low-Orbit Satellites for Enhanced Connectivity: Matteo Barale from Tecnocad explained how low-orbit #satellites are transforming real-time data collection for autonomous vehicles, improving performance in remote areas, reducing latency, and boosting decision-making capabilities. ✅ Modularity as a Service (MaaS): #AlviseManiero from Next Mobility introduced the concept of MaaS, highlighting how modular transport solutions can flexibly adapt to diverse needs, alleviate congestion, and improve overall transport efficiency. 🌐 We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our speakers, members, and attendees who contributed to making this day a success.
