Located in a region that combines history with innovation, the traditional Beato is a neighbourhood known for its old factories and historic buildings, which in recent years has been transformed into a vibrant centre of creativity and technology.    𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁, 𝗪𝗲𝗯 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗥𝗬𝗖𝗞 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 & 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? The "Startup Factories" is a nationwide competition from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, aimed at creating 5-10 lighthouses across Germany to significantly boost the number and quality of knowledge-based startups. BRYCK has entered the competition in collaboration with the RAG-Stiftung and the University Alliance Ruhr, 3 universities - Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University and University of Duisburg-Essen representing over 110,000 students. 𝗕𝗥𝗬𝗖𝗞 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗵𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗔 𝗕𝟮𝗕-𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝗯 The Ruhr region’s unique strength is its B2B Industry – therefore our vision is to build a “B2B-Tech Real Lab” to unlock this potential. “The opportunities are enormous,” says Philipp Herrmann, Co-CEO of BRYCK. “With world-class research and an unmatched density of students and industrial firms, the Ruhr area can become Europe's B2B tech powerhouse!” However, the Ruhr has yet to fully realize its potential due to fragmented regional efforts. So, the time for universities, industry and venture capital to work together for the big swing is now. The 3 Ruhr universities are on board: "Universities are shifting to include not just teaching and research, but also knowledge transfer” says TU Dortmund University President Manfred Bayer. ” In the last three years, there have been over 150 startups — similar to Munich - but we lack a strong connection to industry.” Christian Lüdtke, Co-CEO at BRYCK, says: "What we want is a B2B-Tech hotspot with international appeal. This is our chance to put the Ruhr region on the map. Germany’s industry has its strongest foundation here — so our ambition must be excellence, achievable only through collaboration.
