The event will take place at UCLouvain, Belgium, September 8-12, 2025. This summer school offers a unique opportunity to: ✅ Gain theoretical insights into soil and plant water flow ✅ Develop practical skills in modeling these processes using advanced numerical tools ✅ Connect with experts and peers in soil physics 👉 Who should apply? The first of our new study programs initiated from within Cluster of Excellence "PhenoRob" is welcoming students this fall.

💭🌱 How can we make agriculture more sustainable? 👏🏻🫘 Madhuri P. highlights intercropping as a promising option to diversify cropping systems. In her #PhenoRob PhD Graduate Talk she presents her research on "Effects of mixing multiple spring wheat and faba bean cultivars in variable densities and environments". 🕵♀️💡 She is interested in investigating the mixture effects and interactions in intercropping, ranging from variety to environment and crop management. Particular attention has been paid to crop emergence and grain yield, with spring wheat consistently dominating mixtures across environments, even at early growth stages. 👏🏻 We’re happy to share our latest #PhenoRob graduate talk by Lukas Drees “Data-driven Image Generation for Crop Growth Modeling”! 📈 The aim of Lukas thesis was to further develop Indirect Crop Growth Modelling (CGM), by replacing a traditional prediction model with an image generation model. The output of this model is an artificial future image of the crop field.
