🌍 Strengthening Knowledge Partnerships with Africa 🌍 Today, we welcomed Grace Diabah, Director of the Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa (MIASA), to the GIGA. She joined GIGA President Sabine Kurtenbach and GIGA experts Julia Grauvogel, André Bank, and Maria Josua for a productive work session on academic freedom, MIASA-MECAM cooperation, and MIASA’s final phase. MIASA, based at the University of Ghana, focuses on sustainable governance and reducing global asymmetries in knowledge production, with the GIGA contributing to research on sustainable rural transformation and outreach. MECAM, based in Tunis, fosters cutting-edge research in the humanities and social sciences on, from, and in the Maghreb. The GIGA coordinates its publications and outreach.
