✨ Our 2024 Year in Review: Connecting green minded people. ✨ 2024 was a year of growth, collaboration, and innovation. Our vision of building a sustainable future through green chemistry thrives because of the people driving this mission forward together. Here are some of our highlights: 🌱 Community & Growth Our community continues to grow! This year, our team welcomed five new members, and we’re excited to welcome three more in early 2025. Under Martin Rahmel’s leadership, we successfully implemented numerous transfer formats within the collaborative project of Berlin’s excellence universities. 🌐 Transfer Formats That Connect - Chemistry Career Talks and the Startup Safari showcased the potential of entrepreneurship in green chemistry to young talents. - PitchCourse & Discourse gave early-stage innovators a platform to present their vision and engage with diverse stakeholders. - At the Scale-Up Day, we tackled challenges faced by startups and connected them with industry partners to co-create solutions. ⏩ Flexibility and Modernity as Catalysts Through the introduction of OKRs and our brand launch, we established agile structures and modernized our identity – key steps to fostering innovation and collaboration in green chemistry. 🔭 Looking Ahead to 2025 Next year marks the groundbreaking of the Chemical Invention Factory, a hub for green chemistry innovation in the middle of Berlin. With new formats and a growing team, we’ll continue driving the green chemistry revolution forward. 👥 Thank You, Community – Now It’s Your Turn A special shoutout to our #CIFamily startups for their remarkable achievements this year! 💬 What were your biggest successes in transfer and entrepreneurship in green chemistry this year? Share your highlights in the comments – we’re excited to hear from you! Let’s keep working together toward a more sustainable future – because we are stronger together. 💚 #YearInReview #GreenChemistry #ChemicalInventionFactory Freie Universität Berlin | Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin | Technische Universität Berlin

💼🚀 Career and Family in Experimental Science 👪🧪 Working in the lab—whether in entrepreneurship, industry, academia or beyond—is always challenging. Regulations and laws related to pregnancy and breastfeeding can create additional complexity, and later, experiments often seem to have their own minds and unpredictable schedules, much like children. In "Career and Family in Experimental Science" organized together with @unisyscat we have learned form successful parents with great careers in experimental science about their tipps and tricks to handle lab work and family life. In her keynote, Prof. Dr. Sina Bartfeld shared four key points: 1️⃣ Flexibility in finding individual solutions for parents. 2️⃣ More time and flexible working hours. 3️⃣ Financial support for childcare and help with household tasks. Her mantra: “Perseverance.” Our panel discussion offered further valuable insights: Katharina Rudisch: “Parenthood makes you better in teamwork – accept help.” Dr. Vivian Spiering: “One gets more efficient as a parent, but keep in mind to take care of yourself.” Katharina Kremer: “Trust your expertise. There are ways to handle the work, even with hurdles.” Prof. Dr. Sina Bartfeld: “Be honest with yourself, your partner, and your colleagues about what is possible and where another solution is required.” A big thank you to our speakers and participants for this inspiring exchange! 💬 What strategies have you found to balance family and career in experimental science? #LabParents #ChemicalInventionFactory #ScienceCareers

🚀 An Unforgettable Success: Our Startup Safari Through the World of Chemistry Startups in Berlin! 🚇 We embarked on an inspiring journey with a dozen highly motivated students to explore Berlin’s vibrant chemistry startup scene – from Treptow to Charlottenburg. Four startups opened their doors to us, sharing their innovations, visions, and entrepreneurial spirit. 💡🌟 ✨ Stop 1: LIQUIDLOOP @ MotionLab.Berlin Here, we dived into the world of mass spectrometry and learned how groundbreaking technology and strong networks can pave the way for successful ventures. 🌿 Stop 2: DUDE CHEM Green innovation in the pharmaceutical sector – we discovered how young companies can help established players become more sustainable and future-ready. 🧱 Stop 3: Made of Air A fascinating material that replaces conventional plastics, stores CO₂, and is even more heat-resistant! One key takeaway: founders of material startups can come from all kinds of backgrounds. It’s not just about having chemistry expertise but having a strong vision for change. 🔥 Stop 4: Nanolope The future of thermal energy storage looks promising! Here, we learned how timing and a clear vision are crucial for a successful startup. A spontaneous highlight: On Friday evening, we ran into the teams from Porelio and @nano cats in our building. This gave us an exciting opportunity to experience even more innovations firsthand and learn about their products. A huge thank you to all the startups for sharing their time and knowledge, and to the students who enriched the tour with their thoughtful questions and enthusiasm. 🙌 Berlin has proven once again to be the perfect place to experience innovation up close.
