How does soil impact rainfall? 🌍💧 #StormResolvingSimulations can help with the answer! 💡 A groundbreaking study by Junhong Lee and Cathy Hohenegger reveals a surprising twist in how soil moisture influences #precipitation. Unlike what coarse-resolution models suggest, the feedback between soil moisture and rainfall is weaker, and even negative! 🌧️ This means drier soils can actually promote precipitation, reducing the role of soil moisture in driving rainfall patterns.
