At Portus Data Centers, we are proud to continue our tradition of serving as a bridge between the professional world and educational institutions. Throughout 2024, we hosted students from Athénée de Luxembourg and industry days organized by Chambre des Métiers Luxembourg, and CARE Luxembourg a.s.b.l., offering students a unique opportunity to learn about the critical role data centers play in powering modern society. During their visits, students gained insights into data center design and operations, the importance of secure and reliable data infrastructure, and the far-reaching impact of this industry on daily life. A guided tour of our facility provided them with a first-hand experience of the technology and systems that form the backbone of the digital economy. These visits are part of our broader commitment to sharing expertise, mentoring students, and fostering awareness of the industrial world’s societal impact. They also reflect our partnership with CARE, through which Portus supports vital humanitarian projects. By linking educational experiences with financial contributions to global initiatives, we aim to connect technological innovation with a sense of social responsibility. We value the curiosity and enthusiasm these students bring, and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with schools and organizations in 2025. We are pleased to announce the rebranding of European Data Hub (EDH) to Portus Data Centers Luxembourg. The rebrand marks an important step forward as we expand the facility with an additional 1,350 sqm of white space and increase the total IT load capacity to 3.4 MW. Located in Luxembourg’s Cloche d’Or district, this Tier IV-certified, fully underground facility operates on 100% renewable energy, meeting the highest industry standards. Letzte Woche war es so weit, im Rahmen der eco Data Center Roadshow, gab es eine Führung für angemeldete Gäste in unserem Rechenzentrum in München. Insgesamt 3 Gruppen konnten das nur 15 km vom Stadtzentrum entfernte hochmoderne Tier IV-Rechenzentrum besichtigen. Die anschließende Paneldiskussion fand im Hotel Bauer in Feldkirchen statt. Marco Kain, unser Managing Director, beantwortete und diskutierte dort zusammen mit Michael Emmer und Michael Hase Fragen zum Thema ‚Bedeutung und Auswirkungen des Energieeffizienzgesetztes (EnEfG) auf Rechenzentren‘. Zuvor gab es noch einen Impulsvortrag von Michael Emmer zum Thema ‚Effizienz‘. Vielen Dank an den eco - Verband der Internetwirtschaft e.V. mit Roland Broch, Malena Kalhöfer und Sascha Stadter für die tolle Organisation und den versierten Ablauf. Vom 17. bis 19. November war IPHH – A PORTUS DATA CENTERS COMPANY als Diamant Sponsor auf der DENOG16 in Berlin. Sascha E. Pollok, CEO von IPHH und Mitbegründer des DENOG e.V., war als Sprecher auf der Bühne dabei. Mit über 500 angemeldeten Teilnehmern hat das Event inzwischen eine beachtliche Größe erreicht. Für uns eine spannende die Möglichkeit, um über die Planung unseres neuesten Data Center IPHH4 in Hamburg zu berichten. Last week we attended the eco data center roadshow in Berlin. We were delighted to partner and enjoyed an interesting panel discussion with different members of the industry about physical security in critical infrastructures.
