✨ Full house last night at the OecherLab for Jack Copeland's talk on Alan Turing, one of the most brilliant minds of the 20th century. During the evening, Copeland walked us through Turing's pioneering work on intelligent machinery, from his wartime codebreaking at Bletchley Park to his famous 1950 article “Computing Machinery and Intelligence”, addressing common misconceptions about the Imitation Game and reflecting on its relevance in today's rapidly evolving #AI landscape. The event concluded with a lively fireplace chat between Jack Copeland and Holger Hoos (RWTH Center for Artificial Intelligence) on the intersection of Turing's legacy and the challenges of modern AI. The evening was organized by the Käte Hamburger Kolleg: Cultures of Research (c:o/re) in cooperation with the RWTH Center for Artificial Intelligence and the OecherLab.
