𝐀𝐈 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨-𝐌𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐇𝐋: 𝐀 𝐆𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤  🚀 How will artificial intelligence transform our work environment and jobs? What do employees and representatives need to fully leverage AI's potential? These questions, among many others, were at the forefront when the AI Info-Mobile from Frauenhofer IAO visited STIHL on November 21st. Under the motto "Experience. Understand. Shape.", our employees had the chance to dive into the fascinating world of AI and discover how it can enhance our daily work. ✨ 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 In the morning, our employees witnessed captivating examples from various fields presented by AI experts from Fraunhofer IAO. The afternoon sessions delved deeper: In a workshop, some production employees explored and applied AI applications more intensively. 🕶️ 𝐕𝐑 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 A standout feature was the VR headset, allowing one to step into a virtual warehouse. This provided a firsthand look at the future of warehouse logistics – a realistic and innovative learning experience! Christian Knecht and Jeremias Lange from the AI Info-Mobile demonstrated how virtual reality and AI can revolutionize our work processes. It was a thoroughly successful day, sparking further inspiration. 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 🌍 We had the pleasure of attending IMPACT FESTIVAL 2024 – an event that focuses on sustainable transformation in the B2B sector. Two days of innovation, exchange, and inspiration with startups, corporates, and investors.    🎤 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬: 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰  In our masterclass "Acting for tomorrow: Sustainability & startups in family-owned businesses", we demonstrated how sustainability and innovation go hand in hand. Dr. Friedemann Stock presented our sustainability strategy, while Benjamin Junghans bridged the gap to startups.    🤝 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞  A special highlight was the practical example by Hendrik Roosna, CEO of our portfolio startup Fairown. He shared valuable insights into the successful collaboration with STIHL and showed how sustainability and startups perfectly fit with family-owned businesses. The following discussion was inspiring and highlighted the strong interest of the participants.    Impact Festival was an inspiring event where we had the opportunity to exchange ideas with many interesting people. 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 🤝 Today we would like to introduce our new colleague Marvin R. who recently joined STIHL Ventures.   𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞? 🕔 I am currently pursuing my bachelor´s degree in Business and Management at Hochschule Heilbronn - Hochschule für Technik, Wirtschaft und Informatik and have joined STIHL Ventures this month for a 6-month internship. 📋 My main responsibilities include identifying exciting start-ups for potential collaborations and promising investment opportunities. Additionally, I support the team in initiating collaboration projects with start-ups and analyzing market trends and innovation potentials.   𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐛? 🚀 The opportunity to discover new and exciting startups/ideas almost every day. The many opportunities for collaboration at STIHL allow me to explore different areas of work and exchange ideas, even with founders. We are excited to announce the €5,7M seed extension for our portfolio company Fairown! ✍️   We are super thrilled that the German impact investor BonVenture is on board as lead investor for this round! Together with the existing investors neosfer, the early-stage investor and innovation unit of the Commerzbank AG and Gateway Ventures, we are looking forward to working with you. 🚀   Fairown has expanded rapidly across Europe, offering its unique subscription service in nine countries. Following its success in the Baltics, Nordics, and Poland. The new funding round will enable them to further develop and scale the product, as well as grow their customer base in Germany. With numerous major customers, Fairown is well positioned for further growth. 🌎🌍🌏 

#Wildfire risk is on the #rise across #Europe – What can we do?     🏕 Climate change and its consequences, such as increased temperatures and dry soil conditions, lead to an increased risk of forest fires every year. In Saxony-Anhalt, the highest level of forest fire alert was declared in districts on Saturday, and forest fires have also broken out in southern Europe in recent weeks. The main cause of forest fires in Germany is the human factor, whether through negligence or arson, fueld by the existing conditions.   🔎 The map shows the ECMWF Fire Danger Index for the last 30 days. The risk ranges from low to very extreme. While the risk is high to very high in central Germany, the European Mediterranean countries are at extreme to very extreme risk of forest fires. The map also shows extreme risk in parts of North and South America, parts of Africa and Asia. For the full map follow the link in the comments.   📋 What can be done? Forest fires must be detected as early as possible in order to extinguish them and prevent structural damage. One option is Silvanet, the AI forest fire early detection system from our portfolio company Dryad Networks. Using sensors attached to trees, it detects fires faster than traditional technologies such as cameras and satellite surveillance.   💬 How do you behave in the forest to avoid fires?

𝐊𝐞𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐩 𝐁𝐖 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 (Start-up BW) 🚀    👉 Our Director, Benjamin Junghans, had the opportunity to give a keynote at the Venture Partnering Stage, organized by NXTGN. The topic of his talk was "Corporate Startup Partnerships with a System: The Pragmatic Approach of STIHL Ventures."    💬 In his speech, he stated that corporates have recognized the potential of the #venture approach to facilitate cost savings and enhance organizational efficiency. The #startup ecosystem is equipped with substantial financial resources that could be allocated to address a multitude of individual challenges. Why not take advantage of these opportunities?    🧲 The push-pull approach was then discussed with a focus on the question of how to establish a mutual understanding within the organization. We are pushing a lot of opportunities to the departments that we see on the market through research and our network.
