📢 Call for Proposals: Publishing through the Community – Advances in Interactive Research on Informal Sanitation   Call for Proposals for a session at the RGS-IBG Conference, taking place 27–29 August 2025 in Birmingham, UK. This session builds on a forthcoming IWA Publishing series and explores how research interacts with and transforms community understanding in real or proximate time.   🔍 Contributors should visualize their research on this topic at the session in different ways be it artistic, analytical, or narrative. Selected authors will have the chance to publish in the IWA series.   🌍 Why does this matter? Over a billion people globally rely on #informalsanitation, a growing challenge that requires inclusive, locally led, and community-driven approaches. This session will explore how interactive research can optimize the benefits for the people, places, and processes that shape sanitation solutions.   💡 Guiding Questions: ✔️ What multiple knowledge systems do informal sanitation issues entail? ✔️ Who are ‘communities’ in this context and what form of interaction works for whom? ✔️ What epistemic/methodological influences do the involvement of lay people result in? ✔️ What level of knowledge reproduction/add-ons can interactive research result? ✔️ What tensions and challenges do interactive research pose and how to address them?   📩 Submission Details: Submit a 250-word abstract (academic article or artistic product description) to m.roy1@lancaster.ac.uk by 5 PM, February 21, 2025.
