Liita Care is a MedTech company focused on Respiratory Health. We are committed to improving the quality of life for patients and healthy consumers by developing and manufacturing new and better therapies and medical devices for respiratory health management. Together with our top-of-the-line CRO and CMO partners, we develop and manufacture according to pharmaceutical standards. We work with leading scientists, designers and manufacturers to create quality solutions based on advanced scientific research – as well as consumer insights. Our mission is to be a defining contributor to the global respiratory OTC market by providing unique self-care solutions that empower patients to counter-act respiratory challenges without the risk of severe adverse effects. Liita’s current technical platform is an advanced and unprecedented refinement and use of sodium chloride. Even though salt is a vital mineral, it has not received much attention from the medical research community. We see this as an excellent opportunity to become world leaders in knowledge about salt for pulmo-therapeutic use. Since 2012, we have pursued this goal in close collaboration with the leading scientists and specialists. Dual Use Growth is an acceleration program, where six promising startups with the potential to make a significant impact on both commercial and defense applications (dual use), have been chosen to participate. The program aims to foster innovation within the defense industry while providing startups an opportunity to showcase their technologies to military stakeholders, bridging the gap between innovation environments and the defense sector. The technologies represented are highly diverse: ⚓ Tordenskjold specializes in advanced maritime surveillance using artificial intelligence, which analyzes data from multiple sources, including satellite images and fiber cable data, to make hidden ships visible. 🩸 Glysious develops an innovative foam bandage that seals wounds, prevents infection, and promotes healing – all with minimal disruption to the wound bed. 🫁 LIITA Care offers a medical device that improves respiratory health by delivering hyper-osmotic dry NaCl particles to both the upper and lower airways. 🛟 DanaDynamics works with advanced autonomous technologies for maritime applications. 🛩️ Skypuzzler ApS developed advanced Digital Air Traffic Control software, enabling drones to fly safely and autonomously using software-to-software communication. 🎯 Lightnovo ApS developed a miniaturized, handheld spectrometer. The program is the first of its kind in Denmark, and is launched in partnership with The National Defence Technology Centre, the venture house PSV, and Forsvarsministeriets Materiel- og Indkøbsstyrelse.

These are just a few examples of the exciting work being done by three of the 18 startups that got a taste of our Dual-Use Growth program yesterday at our Discovery Day in DTU Science Park. The program is designed to scale technologies with both commercial and defense applications.
