    Today, I had the pleasure of presenting to Google employees at their Dublin office, where me and Damodar David Aros Mardones dove into the true profit narrative and explored innovative strategies to scale e-commerce businesses. It was a fantastic session with excellent questions and engaging conversations. We focused on the critical role of POAS© bidding and the importance of measuring Contribution Margin at a holistic business level. These metrics are crucial for understanding the real impact of our marketing efforts beyond just surface-level KPIs. By emphasizing these, we can ensure our decisions drive true profitability and sustainable growth. It’s clear that to thrive in today’s competitive landscape, we must shift our focus from traditional metrics to those that provide a deeper understanding of our business’s financial health.

  • ProfitMetrics started just as COVID-19 hit, so we naturally built a remote-first company. Since then, we've established an office in Copenhagen, where most of our Danish team works. Today, we're proud to have a diverse team from 14 different countries. Many of us had only met on Zoom, but we have still managed to build a strong culture. However, it was about time to meet in person. In early June, we brought together team members from across Europe and the Atlantic to meet up in Málaga. We spent three amazing days working, relaxing, and having fun together. Here’s a short video from our trip. This will definitely be something we do again!

    Yesterday, I was invited to be a panelist at an internal Google EMEA event in Dublin. We talked about the changes in the industry, and I had a chance to discuss how we need to measure the real impact of marketing investment on 'backend' numbers such as Orders, Revenue, Gross Profit, new vs. existing customers, CAC, Blended ROAS, Blended POAS, and Contribution Margin. All of these numbers are not impacted by privacy regulations, so they are always real numbers and are comparable year over year. We need to make sure we do not base our most important investment decisions solely on data that is either now incorrect because of cookies consent, etc., or only on modeled data.
