💡 At BlueFloat Energy, we support the clear momentum towards a well-defined grid rollout plan, essential for delivering on ambitious electrification goals. The National Energy System Operator’s Clean Power 2030 Plan, along with the Offshore Wind Industry Council’s recent report, underscores the importance of accelerating coordinated offshore connections—a crucial piece for advancing #floatingoffshorewind. As developers, we continue to weigh grid connection strategies carefully. Our primary scenario focuses on an innovative coordinated hub approach, allowing for interconnection with nearby projects, which not only optimizes infrastructure but could streamline onshore and offshore surveys. However, we recognize the complexity and potential risks inherent in adopting an untested model, highlighting the value of strong industry support and policy alignment to manage these challenges. ⚡ Ultimately, supporting a shared, flexible offshore network will be key to meeting #netzero goals and realizing an efficient path forward for the sector. National Energy System Operator #gridconnection #electricalworks #offshorewind #renewableenergy #windpower
We welcome the National Energy System Operator's Clean Power 2030 Plan and the strong signals from Government to set clear pathways to accelerate a coordinated grid rollout to meet the country’s electrification goals. These themes of reinforcing a coordinated approach to offshore connections and accelerated delivery were also loud and clear in the recent Offshore Wind Industry Council (OWIC) report “Delivering the Shared Offshore Network” We do however, recognise the urgent need for industry to address not just the long-term market & TNUoS reforms but also in the short-term to ensure NESO’s pathways to #netzero are achievable and we also welcome continued Government intervention to ensure that the required reform timescales support the acceleration of #floatingoffshorewind project delivery to meet our clean energy future targets. 💚 See link to both below ⏬ #BellrockWind #BroadshoreWind BlueFloat Energy | Nadara
