We're hosting two public consultation events to gather community feedback on proposed locations for the #BroadshoreHub's onshore substations. The Broadshore Hub will be located 47 km north of Fraserburgh, with a combined capacity of up to 1.1 GW (gigawatts) of renewable electricity. Power from the offshore wind farms will be transmitted onshore via underground cabling and connected to the National Electricity Transmission System at the new Netherton Hub (west of Peterhead). It's not all engineering! 🛠️ Rounding off #ScotCareersWeek24 highlighting the many career opportunities in Offshore Wind and the wider Renewable Energy industry in Scotland. We partnered with Edinburgh Science to deliver #CareersHive, a career event like no other, encouraging around 2,500 S1–S3 students to dive into the world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, with inspiring talks from our team on their own STEM journey too! 🌍🔬 And then showcased what it takes to design, develop, construct & operate an offshore wind farm, as well as all of the roles required to #ShapetheFuture, with students from North East Scotland College in Fraserburgh, learning about our Bellrock Wind & Broadshore Hub projects. 💚 We also took time to inspire young minds from the Peterhead Sea Cadets with a range of floating wind farm designs as well as virtual reality simulations of what it's like working offshore. #NoWrongPath BlueFloat Energy | Nadara

We welcome the National Energy System Operator's Clean Power 2030 Plan and the strong signals from Government to set clear pathways to accelerate a coordinated grid rollout to meet the country’s electrification goals. Celebrating the brightest stars of the Global #OffshoreWind industry at #RUKAwards24 in London - including our own supply chain lead, Kirsty Adams for well deserved 'Future Leader' award! 👏 Kirsty's work continues to drive local supply chain growth, ensuring Scotland’s offshore wind projects stay at the forefront of the UK's net-zero ambition. Most notably, Kirsty is the Industry Chair of The Offshore Wind Industry Council’s (OWIC) Supply Chain and Clusters Workstream, which works to ensure a robust supply chain for the ongoing deployment of offshore wind, liaising closely with government to ensure industry representation in legislation development. Also encouraging to hear Ed Miliband, Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, praising offshore wind's success to date and highlighting the wave of government support for an industry that is 'central' to government's 2030 clean energy targets.
