Citizen-led energy communities offer a real alternative to transform the nature of the energy transition, which has so far been controlled by the same actors who profited from fossil fuels while emitting millions of tons of CO₂. Gracias a nuestra experiencia y visión en el ámbito de la #energía inteligente generamos beneficios sociales, ambientales y económicos en entornos rurales de Galicia, Castilla y León y Portugal. Lo hacemos para impulsar la #transiciónverde y mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas, y lo plasmamos en cuatro actuaciones piloto desarrolladas el marco CEL RURAL - POCTEP. ⚡ Así lo expuso en #Vigo nuestro compañero Pablo Álvarez Rodríguez durante el evento del GWO - Galician Wind Observatory de la Universidade de Vigo, en el que participó como ponente. Nuestra labor a favor de las #ComunidadesEnergéticas Locales (#CEL) no termina aquí, y por eso el próximo jueves hablaremos sobre esta iniciativa y sobre AGERAR PLUS en un encuentro en la Universidad de Sevilla.

.....The event also launched the social engagement process for Galicia’s first community wind farm. As explained by Xavier Simón, after a year of preliminary discussions, the Galician Wind Observatory is initiating the development of the Quiñón do Ar Community Wind Farm, featuring a single 4.2 MW wind turbine. This project, a key outcome of the Wind Observatory’s research, involves the creation of a cooperative-based company by researchers at the University of Vigo. https://lnkd.in/dqFdP7Ph

At the end of October, the event titled "Governance Processes and Participation in the Installation of Renewable Energy Plants in Galicia" took place at the Centro de Investigación Interuniversitario das Paisaxes Atlánticas Culturais (CISPAC) headquarters in Santiago de Compostela. Organized by the Galician Wind Observatory (GWO), Red Española para el Desarrollo Sostenible | REDS, Eudemon and INSTA - Environmental Legal Services, this event served as an innovative, multisectoral meeting point. It centered on renewable energy production in our Autonomous Community, examining its broad and varied implications. The meeting aimed to create a multi-actor dialogue space around governance processes and participation in installing renewable energy plants. https://lnkd.in/dMX9-6MZ

To conclude the event, the Wind Energy Observatory of Galicia will unveil plans for the first community wind farm in the region (ENERCOM). Following over a year of technological, territorial, and legal groundwork, this session will mark the formal launch of the social and community platform for the project—Galicia’s first community-led wind farm initiative. https://lnkd.in/d-9jucee

The “Renewables with the Territory Roadmap” outlines numerous measures, many of which focus on local and rural development, a central area of the Galicia Wind Observatory’s work. Among the highlighted measures is the importance of allowing local citizens and administrations to participate in the ownership of renewal energy projects. The plan also emphasizes the need for genuine involvement of local stakeholders in the planning processes of these installations. https://lnkd.in/dcPg5x6S
