Advanced Arbitration Academy Evidence and Hearing Workshops in Morocco ⚖️ 📅 On 9 and 10 December, the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy for Africa held its fifth and sixth workshops in Casablanca. The two workshops covered topics such as document production, expert reports, and management of hearings. 🌍 The ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy is the most advanced-level training on arbitration offered by ICC. Tailored primarily for senior and upper-mid-level arbitration practitioners aspiring to become arbitrators, this year-long program includes comprehensive coursework and 8 workshops across various cities in each region. The ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy for Africa is chaired by Funke Adekoya and Jacob Grierson. We are grateful to the Conseil Régional de l'Ordre des Experts-Comptables Casablanca et Régions du Centre for hosting us. We would also like to thank our experts Athina Fouchard Papaefstratiou, Catherine Schroeder-Paillard, Laurence Kiffer, Aïcha BRAHMA, and Raëd Fathallah, as well as #ICCCourt Counsel Eléonore Toupart for sharing all their time and expertise with the participants. We are starting the training of arbitrators in Africa and the Middle East… In alignment with the ICC Court's purpose to enable access to justice worldwide, we launch two additional Advanced Arbitration Academies—one dedicated to Africa and the other to the Middle East. Complementing our existing successful programs in Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and North America, the Academies are specifically designed to enhance the expertise of arbitrators across the globe, with a goal to foster geographical, national, cultural, and gender diversity of skilled arbitrators ready to render justice in various languages, regions, and on a global scale. With the guidance of Funke Adekoya and Jacob Grierson for Africa, as well as Alain Farhad, Nadine Debbas Achkar and Roland Ziade for the Middle East, and with the active engagement of prominent arbitrators, approximately 40 candidates from each region will undergo a comprehensive arbitrator training in a setting closely resembling real-life arbitration procedures.
