Le réseau mondial des architectes L’Union Internationale des Architectes a été fondée à Lausanne (Suisse), le 28 juin 1948, pour unir les architectes de tous les pays du monde, dans la fédération de leurs organisations nationales. Composée lors de sa création de délégations de 27 états, l’UIA rassemble aujourd’hui les organisations professionnelles les plus représentatives des architectes dans 131 pays et territoires. L’UIA est une organisation non gouvernementale accomplie, le seul réseau professionnel des architectes de tous les continents.

  • 🌍 UIA International Forum 2024: A Milestone for Urban Diversity 🌍 The UIA International Forum 2024, hosted in Kuala Lumpur from 15 to 17 November, concluded successfully with over 1,500 participants gathering under the theme “Diversecity”. This Forum, organized in collaboration with Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM), explored diversity in urban contexts, focusing on cultural, social, and environmental inclusivity in city design. Key highlights included discussions on cultural sensitivity in architecture, urban diversity governance, and designing with people and nature in mind. A landmark outcome was the signing of the Kuala Lumpur Declaration, reaffirming the role of cities as dynamic centers of cultural interaction and sustainable development. This Forum sets a strong foundation for continued global dialogue on creating inclusive, sustainable, and diverse cities.   • UIA at COP29 Azerbaijan! 🇦🇿 Yesterday, November 18th, the International Union of Architects (UIA) joined a pivotal conversation at COP29 in Azerbaijan with the launch of the GCCA “Low Carbon and Near Zero Definitions for Cement and Concrete” thanks to Emna Bchir’s participation as a panelist and under the patronage of German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck. This critical initiative provides a global benchmark for identifying and adopting green cement and concrete, essential for decarbonizing the built environment. Our Impactful Contribution: Emna Bchir, Co-Director of the UIA Sustainability Commission, participated as a key panelist in the discussion on sustainable concrete. Her intervention highlighted the architectural community’s vital role in aligning global sustainability goals with innovative building materials and practices.   • ✨We announce the completion of the second cycle of the UIA 2030 Award, a biennial initiative with UN-Habitat celebrating architecture's role in advancing the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This year, 100 projects from 33 countries showcased their commitment to design excellence and the SDGs. After a rigorous two-stage process, 50 Regional Finalists moved forward, sharing compelling videos that illustrated the impact of their projects on communities.
